Soon after the death of Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah conspiracies for power started
sprouting.The only person at that time who could handle these was Liaquat Ali Khan ,the first
prime minister of Pakistan.After becoming the regent of the state Liaquat Ali Khan took
measures that determined the political situation of Pakistan today.On one hand the
constitution was being setup and on the other hand Pakistan had to decide it's allegiance
between the cold war of the to two super powers of the world , America and Russia.Although
Pakistan could have decided to stay neutral but Liaquat Ali Khan preferred to visit Washington
instead of Moscow which embittered the relationship between Pakistan and Russia.Mr.khan
received a warm welcome in Washington D.C.This resulted in Pakistan being tangled in the
conspiracies of the cold war due to which Pakistan lost its autocracy as it had became the toy
tool of the super powers.The last year of prime ministership of Mr Khan was very vehement as
major Akbar Khan tried to Impose martial law in the country . Although unsuccessful but it was
the first attempt in the history of Pakistan.

Finally on 16 October 1951 Liaquat Ali Khan while addressing Muslim league Gathering in
Rawalpindi was shot dead on the chest .The biggest evidence of Khan's murder case the
murderer it self ,Zaid Akbar, was Killed on spot by the Police.Many held Afghanistan and
America responsible for this Assassination.It can be assessed by the fact when Lahore high
court asked for Mr.khans murder case file upon which additional advocate general claimed that
he has misplaced the file.Experts say that if the investigation of the murder of first prime
minister of Pakistan would have been done properly the current situation would be different.
