Exploring Ayurveda Syllabus with Shontinique

This seminar aims to provide weekly prompts to explore Ayurvedic practices as they pertain

to balancing wellness, self-love, and self-care. We are all learning together so there is no expectation

to master Ayurveda over our three-week journey.

First Saturday 1100-1230

Second Saturday 1100-1230

Third Saturday 1100-1230

Week 1

This week will focus on balance and finding out what our doshas are and what they mean

according to principles of Ayurveda. This will cover key ingredients used for each dosha, techniques

to finding balance, and goal setting.

Week 2

This week we will care for our bodies internally and cover food ingredients according to

Ayurvedic principles. We will create simple recipes and try simple exercise routines to incorporate

for the following week followed by goal setting.

Week 3

This week focuses on external balance and caring for our bodies according to Ayurvedic

principles. We will create simple skin care products, create relaxation rituals or routines for winding

down, followed by goal setting for the coming week.

Required Supplies

Comfortable and breathable clothing for physical activity

A yoga mat, towel, or blanket

FOOD RECIPES

Roasted Sweet Potatoes with Kale (Vata-inspired)

One Sweet Potato, cleaned and diced into thick chunks

Toss in virgin olive oil, ¼ teaspoon of salt and one tablespoon of basil

(bake at 420 degrees F for 30 minutes)

Let potatoes cool until warm

Add ¼ cup of fresh kale

Top with 1/8 cup of cottage cheese or goat’s cheese

Fresh Dill Cucumber Salad (Pitta-inspired)

1 English cucumber, cleaned and sliced

2 tablespoons of dill

3 tablespoons of white rice vinegar

Mix up and enjoy

Pomegranate Berry Mix Snack (Kapha-inspired)

½ cup of pomegranate

½ cup of blueberries
