Today  I  am  going  to  use  the  potty!      I  am  so  
excited  and  I  know  that  I  will  do  a  great  job.    
This  is  the  toilet.    It  is  where  we  use  the  
bathroom.      I  get  to  say  “Goodbye,  
Diapers!”    
  

 
 
This  is  our  big  toilet.    Some  people  use  big  
toilets  like  this  one  and  some  people  use  
smaller  ones.      Some  bathrooms  even  have  
stools!    
                                                      
 
It  is  important  to  tell  someone  when  you  have  
to  use  the  bathroom.    I  don’t  want  to  have  a  
mess  in  my  pants,  so  I  always  tell  an  adult  when  
I  have  to  go  to  the  bathroom.    
                                                              
I  even  use  the  bathroom  when  we  are  at  the  
store  or  at  school.      It  can  be  fun  to  use  the  
bathroom  in  other  places,  too!    
  
 
Flushing  the  toilet  is  my  favorite  part!    When  I  
use  the  bathroom,  I  am  allowed  to  flush  the  
toilet.        
Whoosh…  I  even  wave  goodbye  as  it  goes  down  
the  drain.    
  
 
Washing  my  hands  is  so  important.    I  use  warm  
water  and  a  squirt  of  soap.    I  scrub  my  hands  
while  I  sing  the  “ABC  song”  and  then  I  was  the  
bubbles  away  with  water  and  watch  them  go  
down  the  drain.    I  dry  my  hands  with  a  clean  
towel  when  I  am  done.    
                                                
 
I  never  use  too  much  toilet  paper  or  it  can  make  
my  toilet  stop  working.    I  remember  that  a  few  
squares  is  just  what  I  need  to  be  clean.        
  

                                                     
 
When  I  use  my  stool,  I  am  very  careful.    
Sometimes  I  use  a  little  seat  that  fits  on  our  big  
toilet.    It  has  handles  and  I  hold  onto  them,  so  
that  I  don’t  fall.    
  

 
 
 
 
If  I  run  out  of  toilet  paper,  I  just  ask  for  help.      I  
need  to  always  wipe,  or  I  will  get  a  sore  bottom.      
It  is  important  to  stay  clean  and  ask  for  help  if  I  
need  it.      
  
 

 
 
 I  am  ready  to  use  the  potty!      
  I  know  that  I  will  do  a  great  job!    I  will  get  to  
wear  big  kid  underwear,  too!
