Air-borne Noise
The noise transmitted from an installation to a receiving area can
be controlled and reduced by:
• Insulating the noise source and improving the machine design,
• Treating the transmission path adequately,
• Organising and optimizing the installation.
Structure-Borne Noise
The noise radiated in the living quarters (LQ) or work
rooms is also due to the vibrations transmitted through
the structure and radiated by floors and walls.
Vibratec can predict this structure-borne noise and
reduce it by working at several levels:
• Insulation of the vibrating equipment,
• Design of the machine supporting floor,
• Identification and action on the transfer paths, Noise map of a FPSO Topside
