Introduction/Background of project:
This Charter formally authorizes the training program to teach employees about product liability and associated issues. This
training program will be used at Electron Corporation to train employees on the topic. A project plan will be established and turned in
for approval, the project plan will include: scope statement; schedule; cost estimate; budget; and provisions for scope, resource,
Purpose:
The purpose of the training program to fix Electron Corporation current issue in regards to producing liability and associated
issues. The training program will provide a proactive and systematic approach to product safety and answering questions related to
product liability issues. The biggest and main concern of the key stakeholders is ensuring employees are protecting their areas among
several fronts, ability to address legalities, as well as, being protected in regard to product liability.
Objectives:
3. Students will learn how to select and use appropriate resources in order to accommodate customer complaints in the areas of
Acceptance Criteria:
1. Engineering management needs to make informed decisions regarding risk of product liability in a global marketplace.
2. Marketing and sales need to communicate claims without incurring undue liability
3. Improve and design resources that provide information including a well-defined customer complaint system, impact of
Rationale:
The case my project is based on is Craig Gregersen: Balancing a Range of Stakeholder Interests When Designing Instruction.
Assumptions I made from the case study include the company has yet to approve any systems nor procedures that address the needs of
the learners. The key stakeholders have very different proposals when it comes to the scope and learning objectives of the training
content. A main priority is tackling the issue of various learning goals, second priority is determining a procedure and system that
address the learners needs, and thirdly there is five weeks to develop the content for a one-day training course.
Project Manager & His Authorities:
The Project Manager, Louise Masoff, is hereby authorized to communicate with management as required, negotiate for
resources, assign responsibilities within the framework of the training, and to communicate with all contractors and management, to
ensure successful and timely completion of the training. Louise Masoff, is responsible for developing the project plan, observing the
schedule, cost, and scope of the project during implementation, and supporting/maintaining control over the project by analyzing
Stan Neuhaus Senior Design Engineer and chair of the Safety Steering Committee, he wants the
training to raise awareness and avoid safety issues and lawsuit
Louis Massif Training Project Manager, Concerned with fulfilling her job duties while training
others on product liability.
Richard Mull Legal contact at Electron, he has approval authority over the training. Delivered a
previous training and feel it is enough information that keeps Electron safe from
plausible deniability.
Electron’s employees 1. They know of risks but are lacking in specific information and systems to
1. Engineering address the risks, they need to gain clear direction.
2. Marketing/Sales 2. Need help communicating claims.
3. Servicing & Maintenance 3. They are concerned with the lack of resources available to support customer
concerns.

The project schedule is represented using a Gantt Chart and can be found here. The Gantt Chart provided includes the projects
phases, the sequenced sub-tasks to be completed in each phase, start and finished dates, time durations, and the stakeholder
accountable for the task. The Gantt Chart also includes the progress of each task represented as a percentage and a bar graph. Each
phase and task has been groups for easy visualization and manipulation of the chart. For example, if you would like to only view the
tasks for phase 1 you can minimize the other groups to see the week you are in. The chart also provides a visual of the duration of the
phase and particular task. Since the Gantt Chart was created using GoogleSheets and the hyperlink will take you to another page I

Rationale
The case my project is based on is Craig Gregersen: Balancing a Range of Stakeholder Interests When Designing Instruction.
Assumptions and information, I used from the case study include the stakeholder’s names and positions, as well as, used their
performance backgrounds and knowledge to create trainings that would fit the learning needs to the employees at Electron
Corporation. Due to the degree of knowledge by Richard Mull and Stan Neuhaus is necessary for the area of training and content
being used.
