ESSAY (BEHAVIORAL)

Name:Paula Carmela R. Ocampo

Date: October 27, 2020

1. Describe a time when you were faced with problems or stresses that tested your
coping skills.

There was one time wherein we had a final exam in Auditing Problems and the coverage was
cover to cover, I had no enough time to study the whole lesson because I had more to do with
other subjects. Take note, that was the final and the last resource for me to be able to get the
passing grade. We had 2-hour-vacant before the subject. I was so stressed, but deep in my
heart there was a still small voice telling me to pause for awhile and remind myself that God
didn’t bring me to it without helping me finish it. I prayed and took a deep breath. Upon doing it
my mind became relaxed and finished the exam with confidence and the result was good, the
score was more than I expected.

2. Give an example of a time in which you had to be relatively quick in coming to a

decision.

When I taught I didn’t pass the singing audition in our school, I quickly decided to go home
without waiting for the result. Not knowing that I was one of the finalists. I just wasted that
moment.

3. Give me an example of a time when you were able to successfully communicate with
another person even when that individual may not have personally liked you (or
vice versa).

There was this person in our school that doesn’t like when I am around. And so I confronted
her in a nicest possible way that I can do. I asked her if how’s going with her life
because I believe that there’s no such kind of people in the world without having any
reasons to feel it, may it be her past situations, trauma, insecurities, etc. She opened
herself to me and finally got into conclusion that she was having insecurity with
herself. I boost her confidence by telling her that she is unique and that she is loved
and the apple of God’s eye. Gladly, until now we are best friends.
4. Tell us about a situation in which you had to adjust to changes over which you had no
control. How did you handle it?

Actually, this pandemic season teaches me a lot. This is the best example of a situation that I
can’t control. There are lots of adjustments. My plans of becoming a CPA and building myself
for the future, helping my family and many more, became crumpled. Instead of me crying to
tears and let this situation eat me, I confidently asked myself that still there’s always a reason
behind everything, and so I think of things that will make me improve and that will ready
myself to receive my dreams in the future. And so here I am, looking for an established
company that will help me grow and also studying for the betterment of myself. I’ve learned
many things that I thought I can’t do, such as paintings and cooking.

5. Tell us about a time when you had to analyze information and make a
recommendation. What kind of thought process did you go through? What was
your reasoning behind your decision?

My friend asked me “How are you going to know if things are for you?” I answered it based
on my experiences. I asked her that you’ll be able to know it, if you have peace in
your heart upon achieving it. Suffering achieving it is different from having no peace
at all. There is no such thing as easy if you are aiming for something that is big. But if
it gives you distress, anxiety and fear, try to ask yourself if it is worth achieving for.
