the httpd‐ssl.conf file (in apache/conf/extra) to restore.
Certs stored earlier in apache/conf/ssl.crt & apache/ For nGeniusONE server processors, the dual‐quad core 2.4 GHz model is recommended for < 50 interfaces, the
conf/ssl.key folders are kept & restored upon upgrade dual‐quad core 3.6 GHz model for up to 100 interfaces
Default shipping version: v6.3 Be aware that any new Java virtual memory values supersede those changed in previous versions
Install v6.3 For HTTPS/SSL configuration, keep track of non‐standard server certificates/private keys
Ensure server has adequate system resources Restore any prior customized property settings after upgrade
Server OS 64‐bit: RHEL 6.5, 6.9, and 7.0 to 7.7; Win ‘12/ Filter inapplicable applications from view by configuring Business Types in Global Settings
’12 R2 & ’16; CentOS v7.x To add undefined, high‐volume, TCP/UDP/IP applications, use Traffic Discovery in Global Settings

Safari v13+: vendors’ officially supported versions only The asi_2x_mode command used prior to v5.3 was replaced with asi_mode < CDM | ASI | hybrid>. During upgrades,
Ensure server and clients are registered in DNS appliances with asi_2x_mode=on are set to hybrid and those with asi_2x_mode=off are set to CDM. For important
For Linux, run the ./nGApplianceConfig.plx script upgrade information about this command, refer to the Agent Configuration Utility for CDM/ASI Administrator Guide.
Register the software & run nGeniusONE License Utility Refer to the NETSCOUT Data Source Hardware Model History to determine if your hardware supports ASI mode.
For capacity planning, enter: grep ‐i processor /proc/cpuinfo | wc –l for CPU cores and free ‐g for available memory

III – Interoperability Concerns
Recommendation: use HTTP or HTTPS rather than SNMP for more efficient InfiniStreamNG/nGeniusONE Server communications. If SNMP is configured, nGeniusONE uses 15‐
minute polling — rather than 5‐minute polling with HTTP or HTTPS — for CDM‐mode ASRs and CDM data only.
Check firewall requirements for IP listener port assignments. nGeniusONE server requires port 8080 for HTTP connections to console clients and other nGeniusONE servers.
InfiniStreamNG‐nGeniusONE server communications require port 8080 (HTTP) or 8443 (HTTPS) if those protocols are selected instead of SNMP (port 161). Refer to the
NETSCOUT Server Administrator Guide for all port interoperability uses
Recommendation: configure Global Settings in either nGeniusONE or the UMC; do not use them interchangeably for configuration
Use the Application Templates feature in nGeniusONE (or the Device Protocol Settings module in UMC) to assign and associate protocol templates to a device
You can migrate previously configured Spaces (UMC) using the CLA tool. Settings are exported to an XML file that provides definitions for default Dashboard Spaces
