Our lives started out as a new full piece of chalk representing the length of our life.
Each of us is busy scribbling the chalk wall of our journey.
We have our own way on making it colorful and astounding. When I was 7 years old, I used to have a small imagination about being in a classroom. I did prepare lessons every day. I made a list of my class. I used the wall of our home as a chalkboard, and painted it with words. At that time, I had the vision of myself of becoming a student of Hanoi National University of Education. When I was 9 years old, my best friend told me that I was too kind to be a teacher. My students might bully me. I asked my dad about that. He said it was true, and I should follow his path to work in public section when I grew up. When I was 15 years old, it was my belief that someday I would work in a public organization. I also still wanted to study in an English environment. That was the reason why, at that moment, Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam was my dream university. When I was 18 years old, I failed to enter the university of my dream. I had given the best out of me to have the highest score., but it was saddening to ponder that my 3 years of studying in high was not quite enough. After that, I doubtlessly followed what my father thinks what’s the best for me. During those days, depression chased me. It came to the point that my academic performance was not good. At that time, I have realized that I shall not let myself go down. I decided to find my real dream. Since I was an excellent student at Literature, I started by working as a content writer. I did it well; however, I still had a sense that it was not the permanent job I could follow. My “finding true job” journey did not stop. I love speaking which leads me to my decision to enroll Master of Ceremonies courses. I wondered if I could be a great host. I made an immense effort to be one. At the same time, I also participated in an internship program in administrative department of one of the top-list universities in Vietnam. However, I still could not find a strong emotion in these jobs. I was being confused of the pathway I should take in life, but this brings me to the job that leads me to genuine happiness. I am currently working as an English assistant in a famous local English center in outskirt of Hanoi which is also my place. Honestly, I am not that good at English, but I sincerely love it. I couldn’t deny the fact that I have been experiencing an amazing moment in this job. In all honesty, I did not feel this kind of happiness with any career I tried before. This job requires speaking skills which develops my interpersonal skills. I can share everything beyond studies with my students. Every time I look at them, I could clearly remember the days when I was at those ages. Even I work in the evening after a long-hour-studying in the university, I still have an enormous energy to work. It melts away all my tension. At first, I was quite hesitant about myself. However, I realized that it takes confidence to surpass all the challenges in life. In this job, I could inspire my students to pursue what makes them happy and to never give up on their dreams. During all these time, I just teach them based on my hands-on experience. Meanwhile, I am trying my best to improve my ability for the reason that I want my students to have the best teacher. Therefore, I decided to pursue teaching English career. Determined what occupation I want to follow, I made a plan for myself. In the next 5 years, I am going to finish my TESOL course because this will a tremendous help to enhance my capability and ability as an English Teacher. My major is far from teaching English. It means I need a suitable training course to follow my dream. Apart from that, after finishing this course, I will apply as an English teacher in a secondary school and work as an English consultant in local center I am working now. In 10 years later, I want to be a headmaster’s advisor in bilingual secondary school. I believe that it is suitable for me because I am also good at making policies. Added to that, Bilingual Education System in my country always tries to improve students’ English ability. I choose secondary school because I feel more comfortable with teaching adolescent students. The reason why I have decided to apply in the United Kingdom is that I want to immerse myself in this country’s culture and lifestyle. When the time I graduate, I will not only teach my students a certain language but also my hands-on experience in this native country. More importantly, I choose Master TESOL in Hudderfield University because this program provides us the good chance to make lesson materials by my own. This could help me to solve many problems I am facing now. I have degree of Public Administration, it means I also understand about the way Vietnamese government runs our educational system. I believe that it is a factor to apply my knowledge in your school to our country. I hold a strong belief that the master TESOL course would be valuable which helps me reaching my fulfillment in the future. With great confidence and passion, I am looking forward to receiving positive reply from you. Thank you for your consideration!
