SECTION A: NON-LINEAR TO LINEAR WRITING [15 MARKS]

Instructions: Based on the information below, write the Result, Conclusion and
Recommendation sections of a formal report in about 250 to 300
words.

A study was conducted on Malaysians’ Shopping Habits for online and in-store items from the
year 2016 to 2020. You have obtained the data as displayed in Figure 1 and Figure 2.

SECTION B: LETTER [15 MARKS]

Instructions: Read the situation and complete the given task below using open punctuation
and fully blocked layout of a formal letter. Your letter should be about 200
words.

SITUATION:

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mamula University has instructed all its lecturers to work
from home and conduct online classes. To help the lecturers to conduct online classes, the
University has placed an order of 1000 units of GraphicOne X2 drawing tablets from
Toughwan Enterprise, a supplier company supplying computer tools and gadgets. The price of
the drawing table is RM120 per unit.

However, two weeks later, Toughwan notified Mamula University that the requested products
were out of stock and it would take another three months to restock due to high demand. They
offered to replace GraphicOne X2 with another brand which was GoFigure B6 at the price of
RM110 per unit. In addition, Toughwan could supply the alternative drawing tablets, GoFigure
B6 within 14 working days. Although both of the drawing tablets are similar in quality,
GraphicOne X2 is slightly more expensive. It also has more interesting features.

As a purchasing director of Mamula University, write a letter to Toughwan Enterprise,

informing them on your decision whether to proceed with the suggested alternative or to wait
for the original order to be available. Include TWO reasons for your decision.
