2x2x3 Blockbuilding Tricks

To get the most out of this PDF, remember that these cases can always be modified to solve
different cases by rotating them or adding setup moves. For example, notice that the first two
cases in this PDF (u' R' u R' and R U R' F) are basically the same case: they both have an edge
flipped in its position, and have a 2x2x1 pair which is in the same position relative to the flipped
edge and the solved 2x2x2 block. These two cases are kind of the same case but from a different
"angle". 

This sort of transformation can be applied to all of the cases in this PDF ­ and also many F2L
cases. There are many useful blockbuilding tricks to be found by modifying F2L algs, which is why
I think it can be a good idea to study F2L, even if you solve with Petrus.
