Buttermilk Fried Chicken Recipe

Ingredients
 2 lbs chicken, cut into serving pieces
 2 cups buttermilk
 2 cups all-purpose flour
 2 teaspoon salt
 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
 1 cup extra virgin olive oil
Cooking Procedure
1. Combine chicken and buttermilk in a large mixing bowl then mix well.
2. Place the mixture inside the fridge and marinade overnight.
3. Combine flour, salt, and ground black pepper then mix well.
4. Dredge the marinated chicken in the flour mixture then set aside.
5. Heat a frying pan and pour-in olive oil.
6. When the oil is hot enough, pan fry the chicken for 3 to 5 minutes per side.
Transfer the semi-fried chicken in a baking tray.
7. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
8. Bake the semi-fried chicken for 30 minutes then reduce the heat to 350 degrees
Fahrenheit and continue baking for 15 to 20 minutes.
9. Turn off the oven and transfer the chicken to a serving plate.
10. Serve. Share and enjoy!

INGREDIENTS

 3 quarter chicken legs, cut into 3 parts each


 1 tsp garlic powder
 salt and pepper to taste
 6 tbsp. cornstarch
 1 egg, beaten
 oil for frying
 Garlic Butter Sauce:
 4 cloves garlic, minced
 ½ stick butter, I used Anchor
 1 tbsp sugar
 1 tbsp calamansi juice
DIRECTIONS
1. Wash and clean the chicken pieces. Put them in a strainer to drain.
2. Put chicken in a bowl and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Make sure every part gets seasoned.
3. Then, add the cornstarch and egg. Mix well until the chicken pieces are all
coated.
4. Fry the chicken pieces until golden brown and skin is crispy. Set aside.
5. In a saucepan, melt the butter in a very low fire.
6. Then add garlic, saute for a few minutes until butter is infused with flavors
of garlic but don't let the garlic turn brown.
7. Add the sugar and calamansi juice, mix well until the sugar is fully
dissolved.
8. Put the chicken pieces one by one in the saucepan, coat it with the garlic
butter sauce.
9. Serve with extra sauce on the side and steaming rice.

4 cups water

2 tablespoons cornstarch

2 tbsps all purpose flour

3/4 cup brown sugar

4 tbsps Silver Swan soy sauce or Marca Piña soy sauce


1 small red onion, minced

2 small garlic cloves, minced

1 siling labuyo / chilli pepper

1 tsp salt

Mix water, cornstarch, all purpose flour, brown sugar and soy sauce in a sauce
pan until the dry ingredients are dissolved.

 Do not turn on the heat yet. Be aware that flour won't dissolve properly in
hot water.
