Audible Differences

Fan Manual Rotation or Windmilling

The CFM56-5B has fan blade mid span shrouds, but

LEAP-1A does not. Because of this, you will no
longer hear any “clicking noise” on the ground when
the fan is spinning slowly.

GO
Windmilling after Flight

In certain conditions, for a short period of time, a

grinding noise might be heard.
