1. There are three consecutive integers. The sum of the first two is 35 more than the third. Find the
integers.

2. In the afternoon, Kerrie and Shelly rode their bicycles 4 miles more than three times the distance
in miles they rode in the morning on a trip to the lake. If the entire trip was I 12 miles, how far did
they ride in the morning and how far in the afternoon.

3. There were 104,830 people who attended a rock festival. If there were 8110 more boys than girls,
and 24,810 fewer adults over 50 years of age than there were girls, how many of each group
attended the festival.

4. There are two numbers whose sum is 53. Three times the smaller number is equal to 19 more
than the larger number. What are the numbers

5. How much pure alcohol must a nurse add to 10 cubic centimeters (cc) of a 60% alcohol solution to
strengthen it to a 90% alcohol solution?

6. If an alloy containing 30% silver is mixed with a 55% silver alloy to get 800 pounds of 40% alloy,
how much of each must be used?
