 This assignment is an Individual report and specifically including 2 main documents (1)
Research proposal, and (2) Research Ethics form. You are required to follow the
format by Pearson-set assignment
 You must use font Calibri size 12, set number of the pages and use multiple line
spacing at 1.5. Margins must be: left: 1.25 cm; right: 1 cm; top: 1 cm and bottom: 1
cm.
 You should use in text references and a list of all cited sources at the end of the essay
by applying Harvard referencing style.
 The recommended word limit is 2000-2500 words (+/-10%), excluding the tables,
graphs, diagrams, appendixes and references. You will not be penalized for exceeding
the total word limit.
 The cover page of the report has to be the Assignment front sheet 1 (to be attached
with this assignment brief).

Assignment Brief and Guidance:

Assignment scenario.

You are a HR director for a multinational corporation operating in Vietnam. You plan to
develop a talent development and management strategy for the company. Notably, the
problem of talent management is a difficult issue that your company is facing. Your research
will help the company build Talent Networks and solve the shortage of high-quality labour.
Under the theme “Talent Management”, your research will cover one of the topics as below:
 The role of line managers and leaders in employee development and well-being;
 Talent management being used as a lever for culture change;
 The importance of contextualising approaches to talent management;
 The need for new and innovative ways of working to achieve a strategic approach to
talent management;
 Barriers for the development of a strategic approach caused by economic and day- to-
day operational pressures.

You can choose ONLY ONE topic among the mentioned ones.

(1) Research proposal: please refer to the form of a research proposal attached with this
assignment brief. It contains FIVE key sections:

Section One: Title, objective, responsibilities

 Title or working title of research project (in the form of a question, objective or
hypothesis)
 Research project objectives (e.g. what is the question you want to answer?
What do you want to learn how to do? What do you want to find out?)

Section Two: Reasons for choosing this research project

 Reasons for choosing the project (e.g. links to other subjects you are studying,
personal interest, future plans, knowledge/skills you want to improve, why the
topic is important)

Section Three: Literature sources searched

 Use of key literature sources to support your research question, objective or


hypothesis.

Section Four: Activities and timescales

 Activities to be carried out during the research project (e.g. research,


development and analysis of ideas, writing, data collection, numerical analysis,
tutor meetings, production of final outcome, evaluation, writing the report)

Section Five: Research approach and methodologies
