1. Considering Ivana’s management style, how should the group of employees


assigned to the project proceed?

With the management style of Ivana, Ivana’s worker should concentrate on the project
that is coming and just forget about the things that the project did not get to delegate
to the project. Based on the case study, some of the worker have their personal issue
that not related with the project. For example, Ester a programmer of ICS asks for left
for an appointment with doctor. But Ivana don’t allow that and ask for reschedule the
appointment because they have a meeting on that afternoon. This is shown that Ivana
wants her worker prioritized which is the most important thing based on the situation
that they face at that time. The style of Ivana only wants their workers to concentrate
on the project and spend the time that they have to complete the task within the
duration of the project.

2. How should the project members interact with Ivana throughout the project?
Before they want to do a meeting with Ivana. They need to clarify what types of

In the case study, Patrick once said that Ivana is not likely to be a person who
always tends to meet, as a senior among other workers, Patrick already knows what
Ivana's style of leadership is. As Patrick said, Ivana doesn't want to waste time with
her team by holding a lot of meetings. This is shown that the project members should
be well prepare in term of information, decision making and others before interact with
Ivana. From my perspective, I think Ivana want her worker have a clear vision and
mission so that they can make a right discission and not waste the time with having a
lot of meeting. Furthermore, this will disturb others employees’ task if she does meet
and will cause delay in project.

3. Why do you think Ivana behaves the way she does?

I think Ivana behave the way she does because the pressure to get the project
done within the due date of project. As a leader, Ivana had to behave like that because
to make sure the worker focuses and give full commitment in the project. Other than
that, it will convince the worker that they will success if the task is done within the time
period. Another aspect because Ivana behaves the way she does is, I think because
she had gone through a tough moment in her life. The struggle that she has to bear is
that she has to work and go to college at the same time for almost 10 years. With the
struggle that she had, she thinks that her employees would have to do the same
struggle as she does.

4. Should the project members approach Ivana about her management style? If
so, how?

I think yes. From my opinion, the worker has to send a person among them to slow
talk with Ivana about the style of management. Most important thing that person have
to know how to approach Ivana and I think Patrick is the right person because he is
the senior worker and of course he knows Ivana well other than another worker. Ivana
clearly wants have a good reputation for her company and all that she doing is for the
company itself. But the style of management will be having a problem if it is continuing
like this. There is no two-way communication in Ivana management style and Ivana
have to change style of management if she wants a good environment in her company.
