4
OPINION ESSAY

Write a 4 paragraph opinion essay answering if you agree or disagree with the following
statement:

"Some of the methods used in advertising are unethical and unacceptable in today’s society."

5
OPINION ESSAY

The phrase that we will analyze corresponds to the following, "Some of the methods used in
advertising are unethical and unacceptable in today's society." The previous sentence represents
a great debate related to the favorable final commercial result, which was obtained through
methods that violate moral principles and ethics in a society. Therefore, an ethical conflict is
created between the achievement obtained and its method.

Some people consider that to promote a product commercially they must take actions that are
legally correct, but violate the ethical and moral values of a society, causing damage. An
example could be the advertising of a musical product where people with mental disabilities are
mocked, or the sexual exploitation of a young woman's body, such situations could cause the
commercial rejection of the product, in addition to the disgust on the part of society.

6
CONCLUSIONS

In this third guideline we have learned about advertising on products and their market. In the first
place, we learn to commercially promote a product and how advertising agencies work, such as
the product design, slogan, image, product marketing method, among others.

Finally, we have learned to carry out an opinion essay, where we express our ideas and personal
criticisms on a particular topic.
