Valentine

love bunny

Only a few centimeters high but such a huge heart!

Valentine is a small fast crocheted bunny,
an amigurumi that has to be replicated in all colors
and offered endlessly.

Material :
- 1 bunny: 13 g of Lil Wiiiz from Lil Weasel (50g/125m) that is about 35 m of DK yarn
- 1 heart: 3,5 g of Lil Wiiiz from Lil Weasel (50g/125m) that is about 9 m of DK yarn
(I managed to crochet 3 rabbits and 3 hearts in each ball.)
- hook n°3
- 1 stitch markers (paper clips or yarn in contrasting color also do just fine)
- toy stuffing filling fiber

Abbreviations and used stitches:

rd : round
st : stitch
ch : chain
sc : single crochet stitch
sl st : slip stitch
inc : increase, crochet 2 single crochet stitches in the same stitch
skip = skip a stitch to decrease. As you crochet very tight, this decrease is invisible (and very easy to do!)

Techniques :
magic loop: It’s a way to begin crocheting in the round, without a hole in the middle of the starting round
thanks to the adjustable ring.
Make a loop around your forefinger, working yarn on top. Insert hook into the loop, draw up a loop and chain
one. From now chain as many stitches in the ring as stated in the pattern. Then pull the yarn to draw the center
of the ring tightly closed.

working in a spiral : It’s a way of working in the round that won't show joins where the rows begin.
There’s no slip stitch at the end of the round as normal when you crochet in the round. You simply begin the
next round in the first stitch of the previous round. That’s why you need to insert a stitch marker at the end of
the round so you can always find the start of a new round.

Helpful tip :
You must crochet tight so the stuffing can’t go out of the stitches.
That’s why I choose for my crochet a smaller number than the one
recommended for the yarn.
Do not hesitate to fill the head a lot, to get the good shape, plump
and firm.

Bunny is worked from legs up.

Start with a magic loop.

Rd 1: Work 6 sc in the loop. > 6
Rd 2 : 1 inc in each st > 12
Rd 3 : 12 sc in back loop only > 12
Rd 4 : 12 sc > 12
1 sl st. Fasten off for 1st leg and put it aside.

Crochet rounds 1 to 4 again to make the 2nd leg, but don’t fasten off.

Rd 5 : Place both legs side by side. Join them with a sc, then sc in each sc, this will be the first of a 24 sc round
(12 sc on the 1st leg and 12 sc on the 2nd). > 24

Rd 6 : (1 inc + 3 sc) x 6 > 30

Rd 7 : (1 inc + 4 sc) x 6 > 36
Rd 8: 36 sc > 36
Rd 9 : (1 skip + 5 sc) x 6 > 30
Rd 10 : 30 sc > 30
Rd 11 : (1 skip + 4 sc) x 6 > 24
Rd 12 : 24 sc > 24
Rd 13 : (1 skip + 3 sc) x 6 > 18

Helpful Tip : Before starting round 14, make sure the start of the round is on the side, at the shoulder of the bunny, before
beginning to crochet the 1st arm. If not, just crochet the number of sc needed to reach this point.

Rd 14 :
ch 10
+ (ch 2 + ch 1 to turn + 2 sl st on the two chain loops that you’ve just done) x 3 to form 3 fingers
+ 10 sl st on the 10 previous chain loops
+ 6 sc on the rd 13 stitches
+ ch 10
+ (ch 2 + ch 1 to turn + 2 sl st) x 3
+ 10 sl st on the 10 previous chain loops
+ 12 sc
Start stuffing the body.

Rd 15 : (1 skip + 1 sc) x 9 > 9

Rd 16 : 1 inc in each st > 18
Rd 17 : 1 inc in each st > 36
Rd 18 : (1 inc + 5 sc) x 6 > 42
Rd 19 : 42 sc > 42
Rd 20 : (1 skip + 6 sc) x 6 > 36
Rd 21 : 36 sc > 36
Rd 22 : (1 skip + 2 sc) x 12 > 24
Rd 23 : (1 skip + 3 sc) x 6 > 18
Stuff the head.

Rd 24 : 5 sc (or required number, see the helpful tip given round 14) to
reach the middle of the head (between the two ears), skip 9
stitches (they will be the base of the second ear)
And carry on with 4 sc (or any number to have 9) >9

Rds 25 to 27 (3 rounds) 9 sc > 9

Rd 28 : (1 inc + 2 sc ) x 3 > 12
Rds 29 to 32 (4 rounds) : 12 sc > 12
Rd 33 : (1 skip + 1 sc) x 6 > 6
Cut the yarn and weave in ends.

Rd 5 : (1 inc + 2 sc ) x 3 > 12
Rds 6 to 9 (4 rounds) : 12 sc > 12
Rd 10 : (1 skip+ 1 sc) x 6 > 6
Cut the yarn and weave in ends.

Rd 1 : 5 sc in the loop >5
Rd 2 : 1 inc in each st > 10
Rds 3 and 4 : 10 sc > 10
Fasten off with a long tail and stuff.

Rd 2 : 1 inc in each st > 10
Rds 3 and 4 : 10 sc > 10
Sl st and fasten off.

Repeat rds 1 to 4, but do not fasten off.

Rd 5 : place two pieces side by side.

Join them with an sc, sc in each sc around
(10 sc on the 1st part, 10 sc on the second) > 20
Rd 6 : 20 sc > 20
Rd 7 : (1 skip + 4 sc) x 4 > 16
Rd 8 : 16 sc > 16
Rd 9 : (1 skip + 3 sc) x 4 > 12
Rd 10 : 12 sc > 12
Stuff the heart.
Rd 11 : (1 skip + 1 sc) x 6 >6
