BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN

‘Bajrangi bhaijaan’ the filmmakers surely did a good job in choosing the title.
Sarcasm? No no no, absolutely not. So what is it about? The two religions (as
unswervingly suggested by the title) or is it just another humdrum bollywood masala
like most of Salmaan’s movies?

Salmaan’s movies would not be complete without a few glitches, would it? What was
it that drove the little girl into trusting a man dancing like he was a robot trapped in
human skin? How does Kareena, portraying a well educated school teacher, fall for a
guy she has just known for 3 days? How did Salmaan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui figure
out that the little girl’s mother reached there using that particular bus? Couldn’t she
have arrived earlier? Couldn’t she simply live nearby? But one cannot be too
obsessed with its flaws, more so because one cannot help but admire how the
filmmakers turned a predictable plot into a tale marvellously unwoven.

The movie manages to surprise its audience with the beautiful performances,
although it didn’t require a brainer to figure out the plot. Nawazuddin Siddiqui did
more than just justice to his role and Salmaan too managed to win hearts with his
oh-so-innocent portrayal of Bhawan. But it was the little girl that stole the show.

None the less this movie managed to pull at the heart strings of everyone, at times
even managing to persuade the tear ducts into agreeing. This movie was definitely
worth a watch.
