When still nobody heard them, Ellen had a great idea - they could use Susan’s ankle bandage, and
wave it in the air to get Daniel’s attention. She explained her idea to Susan.
“ If you take off your bandage, we can wave it in the air. Maybe then they’ll see us.”
After the girls had been waving the bandage for over five minutes, Daniel finally noticed them.
When he looked down he realized there was no way he could get them up the cliff. The only way to
rescue them was by helicopter, so he shouted down to them.
