Wash content (lettuce, kale, spinach, assorted

leaves, herbs, berries).

 Chop content, assemble product parts (colander,
basket, lid).  Load salad to indicated fill-line.
Relocate to inside sink, or place towel
underneath the bottom to catch any water leak

"The only place to grab the unit is by the spout."
" I've also learned NOT to wedge the spinner
against the side (or corner) of the sink - this
bends the shape and causes the gears to skip
and grind and the lid to pop."
"Water sprays back up at you as you're pouring it
in the hole from the faucet and spinning it."
"Some of that water flowing through is bound to
pool under the bottom of the spinner and seep
back in... it just simply isn't raised up enough."

"It must be fit together just so for gear to

engage. Sometimes you have to realign the

Explored divergent method for water to travel in and out. Designed
interaction with end-user in mind with various scenarios and
environments such as retail, in-sink, counter-top, fridge, and pantry.

Models were built in cardboard, foam, eventually modeled in
SolidWorks and 3D printed.

Two design directions were explored. Selection process involved
consulting with manufacturer, engineers, market, and brand
managers.

Allows water from the faucet to flow in while the removable base lets water
flow out the bottom

The basket doubles as a colander and has a drip-catch base or you simply
snap the base cap on to turn the spinner into a classic counter-top version
Non-skid feet when you use it as a flow through by removing the base cap 
The separate basket and bowl makes for an easy clean up
