(The process of systematically planning, developing, evaluating and managing the instructional
process by using principles of teaching and learnisng - D.O. 42, s. 2016)

Detailed Lesson Plan (DLP) Format

June 4, 2019

DLP No.: 2 Learning Area: Mathematics 10 Grade Level: Grade 10 Quarter: 1st Duration: 60 minutes
Learning Competency/ies: Code:
Generates Pattern
(Taken from the Curriculum Guide) M10AL-Ia-1
Key Concepts / Understandings A sequence is a function whose domain is the finite set {1,2,3,…,n} or the infinite set
to be Developed {1,2,3,…,}.

Adapted Cognitive Process Dimensions

Domain 1. Objectives
(D.O. No. 8, s. 2015)
Knowledge Categories: Behavioral Verbs:
The fact or condition of
knowing something with Remembering
familiarity gained through
experience or association
Understanding
Identify the missing terms and the next terms in the sequence.

Skills Applying
The ability and capacity
acquired through
deliberate, systematic,
and sustained effort to
Analyzing
smoothly and adaptively
carryout complex
activities or the ability,
Evaluating
coming from one's
knowledge, practice, Generate patterns to find the missing terms in a given sequence.
Creating
aptitude, etc., to do
something

Attitude
Growth in feelings or
1.Receiving
emotional areas. Phenomena
A settled way of thinking
or feeling about someone 2.Responding to
or something, typically
one that is reflected in a Phenomena
person’s behavior
3.Valuing Share ideas on how to generate patterns in finding the missing terms of the
sequence.

4.Organization

5. Internalizing
values
Values
A learner's principles or Makadiyos
standards of behavior;
1. Receiving
one's judgment of what is Phenomena
important in life.
Go beyond learner’s life Maka-tao Assist students on how to create patterns in a sequence.

eternal destiny of millions. Makakalikasan

2. Content Sequence
3. Learning Resources
4. Procedures
4.1 Introductory Activity (_3_ minutes).  One of the students led the opening prayer.
 A volunteer student gives a 2 minutes energizer called “Bato-Bato”

4.2 Activity/Strategy (__5__ minutes). Ask 2 examples of situation that generate patterns.
4.3 Analysis (____ minutes).  How to find the missing terms in a sequence? Do you need to generate
patterns to create the correct sequence?
 How do you generate sequence in real-life situation? Cite an example.

4.4 Abstraction (_30_ minutes). A sequence is a function whose domain is the finite set {1,2,3,…,n} or the infinite
set {1,2,3,…,}.

Example: n 1 23 4 5 …

a n 4 7 1013 16 …
The above sequence is an infinite sequence where a n=3 n+1. The pattern is just
adding 3 in every preceding term to get the next term of the sequence.
4.5 Application (____ minutes). 1. What is the next shape?
, , , , , , , __, __,__

2. Find the first five terms of the sequence given the nth term. a n=n+ 4
4.6 Assessment (___ minutes).

Assessment Method
a) Observation

b) Talking to Learners / Conferencing

c) Analysis of Learners’ Products (Group Activity is given to the class)

Every group should make a concept map about sequence base on the lesson
given.
Note: Provide 5 examples of sequences to be found in your society. Afterwards, 1
representative will deliver the explanation of your output in front of the class.

Criteria:
Content 10
Delivery of ideas 10
TOTAL 20

d) Tests

4.7 Assignment (__ minutes). Fill-in below any of the four purposes:

 Reinforcing / strengthening the

day’s lesson
 Enriching / inspiring the day’s
lesson
 Enhancing / improving the day’s
lesson
 Preparing for the new lesson On a ¼ sheet of paper, answer the following questions:
a. what is an arithmetic sequence?
b. give 3 examples of arithmetic sequence.

4.8 Concluding Activity (_2_ minutes). The teacher gives a quotation which relates to the lesson and to the lives of the
student.
“Life is like a sequence, you need to create patterns in order to achieve your
goals.”

1. Remarks
2. Reflections

A. No. of learners who earned 80% in the evaluation.

B. No. of learners who require additional activities for

remediation.

C. Did the remedial lessons work? No. of learners who

have caught up with the lesson.

D. No. of learners who continue to require

remediation.

E. Which of my learning strategies worked well? Why

did these work?

F. What difficulties did I encounter which my principal

or supervisor can help me solve?

G. What innovation or localized materials did I

use/discover which I wish to share with other
teachers?
