First Steering Committee Meeting

Minutes of the Meeting

Mr R Dinesh, Chairman - Logistics 2021 and Managing Director, TVS Supply Chain
Solutions Ltd welcomed all the members present at the First Steering Committee
meeting.

For the benefit of the members, Chairman briefed the background of “Logistics Event”,
which has been happening concurrently with “International and Engineering
Technology Fair (IEFT).

Chairman presented the background of IETF and was glad to inform that CII has
reached out to the Hon’ble Vice President of India, Mr M Venkaiah Naidu to inaugurate
IEFT 2021.

Then he highlighted the list of Sector Specific Shows, Concurrent Shows and Sectoral
Exhibitors, which is scheduled at IETF 2021.

He mentioned about the highlights of Logistics 2019 and set the objective for Logistics
2021. He also briefed on the Exhibitor profile & Visitor Profile.

Chairman elaborated about the CII Hive platform and its benefits with snapshots of the
virtual infrastructure during his presentation.

Chairman briefed the members about the suggested terms of reference and he invited
members to share their inputs.

Members suggestion:

 To amplify the “application of digital technology in Logistics Supply Chain” to

provide more visibility to the audience by separating physical automation from
robotic process automation.

 Discussion on recovery of Logistics sector from the present COVID disruption

to the new normal.

 Discussion on Sustainability from the Industry and Government standpoint,

Diversion & Inclusion in supply chain work force and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
  Discussion on Automation specific to Warehousing, Health & Safety in
Warehouses.

 Topics on Integrated Supply Chain with resilience and suggested the logistics
ecosystem to represent to the Government on the challenges faced.

 To include topics related to the upcoming National Logistics Policy as series of

events.

 A session to push the Government for Integrated Multimodal connectivity.

 To invite companies from ASEAN countries, who are keen to establish business
relationship with Ports in India.

Chairman thanked the members for their inputs and advised CII Secretariat to fine
tune the terms of reference as per the members suggestion. He advised to create 3-4
subthemes including automation for the exhibition and advised to cover Integrated
Supply Chain, Sustainability, Multimodal connectivity and any other segments for the
Conference.

Chairman informed that 3 task forces have been formed for Exhibition, Conference
and Visitor-Delegate promotion. He requested the members to express their interest to
join these task forces to support CII Secretariat. He advised CII Secretariat to get the
inputs from the members.

Chairman advised CII Secretariat to provide the list of company names to seek the
support of the members through their network to invite domestic and international
participation for both exhibition and conference.

With reference to the Conference, Mr KV Mahidhar suggested to organise events on

multiple days, rather than having a day or two long program post the Inaugural.
Chairman accepted the suggestion and advised CII to finalise the theme for the
conference.

Chairman thanked all the members present and concluded the First Steering
Committee meeting.
