Students will get to know the characters of the book To end the lesson for the week, I would find a short film
and choose who they want to be by Pick-of-the-Draw. about the book/short story that was read, I will show
that for my students so they can have a visual of the
characters and the setting.
Or
I would create a game of Kahoot and have questions
about the reading in the game and split the class into
group A and B and allow that to be a participation grade.

Teacher will provide a prompt for an essay that students will be expected to write on. Prompt will be about topic
that has been discussed in the class throughout the past couple of weeks. Student should have enough knowledge
and resources to complete task.

Students will complete intro paragraph along with thesis. Student will also meet with teacher to show what the
student has come up with for the essay. Teacher will then guide student to create a stronger thesis if needed or
give guidance on how to complete essay.

Student will work independently to complete essay while brainstorming and using evidence from the story to
complete essay.

DELIVERY PLAN (C8)
OBJECTIVE: Students will be introduced to a new story along with the characters. They will also choose their character
Rigor for the activity.

OPENING:
Retrieval Students will learn of the characters in the story and chose one by a random pick-Of- the-Draw when they
pull out a popsicle stick with character’s name on it.

TEACHER INPUT:
Relevance After reading the short story, the prompt will be given to students to write about their character and
how they can personally relate to them and the characters experiences throughout the story.

characters.

Teacher will go around the class and make sure the student(s) is on track with a good thesis that will support their short

A game of kahoot will be created and played between the class and counted as a participation grade. The questions will be
based on reading from the short story.

Student will turn in short essay and teacher will look for understanding of the prompt and a thesis that supports the essay.

Find a film of the story and allow students to watch it so they can have a visual of the setting in the story and the characters
they played.
