Kashmir the Burning paradise is bleeding, the cries, it pours out, seem to be neither audible to the pacifists nor to any
philanthropist. The whole world seems sleepy if not dead. Once a paradise, now converted into hell; justice denied, cruelty and
barbarism ubiquitous, basic human rights neglected, properties usurped. The ethnic community,Inhabiting Kashmir, who once
would sing songs and enjoy the charms of life has now become the subject of Satan’s (India’s) barbarism and cruelty. This is where
kashmir the paradise stands today!
To begin with, after the end of the british rule and partition of sub-continent into mainly Hindu India and muslim majority state of
pakistan, the Mahraja of Kashmir, without paying heed to the demands and views of kashmiris, signed a treaty of accession with
India in 1947.A war broke out between Pakistan and india over the region when pakistani tribal army extended its hands to their
opressed brothers. However, in 1948, India approached the UN Security Council and raised Kashmir. The UN passed a resolution in
which referendum was caled for on the status of the territory. The resolution also called on Pakistan to withdraw its troops and
India to cut its military presence to minimum. However, after this, many a times this issue is talked about, but no releif nor any
assurance of their rights is given to the opressed kashmiris.also, since the day this resolution was passed, thousands of kishmiris
are either martyred, put behind the bars or tortured to the extent of blindness. There is nothing inhuman left to be done to these
kashmiris. If it be left, that is cruelty galore.ndian army and security forces operating in Kashmir have systematically violated
international human rights and humanitarian law by executing and killing civilians in reprisal attacks. Extrajudicial executions and
disappearances in Kashmir number at least in the hundreds and thousands. Government forces have also violated international
human rights law by using lethal force against peaceful demonstrators. Security legislation authorizing the security forces to shoot
to kill and protecting them from prosecution has encouraged such abuses.
Moerover, once a home to tourists is now burning; Its hills and mountains that would echo the chirping of birds, now, reverberate
the screams and shreiks for liberty, peace, tranquility and help. Had humanity not moribund, these cries would be listened,
hounured and acted upon. The destination of tourists (that It used to be)has now become a home to barbarism. It being tortured
cries out and asks, where are international organizations of human rights; what is freedom, justice, liberty and tranquility?
Education in toda’s world is as necessary as breed and butter, but are kashmiris allowed to go school, educate themselves and
their progeny? The answer is negative, and is full with dispondency which Unfortunately does not auger well. The buildings
constructed for educational purposes (namely, universities, colleges and schools) are reversed. Mean, these institutions
are, now, used for malitry camps and operational procedures and purposes. This deprived community was born free, but now, is
in chains everywhere. The paradise which this community Inhabit, has now become a sort of prison for them. They being under a
constant curfew, are not allowed to promote agricultur; their business markets show a sign of decadence. The fertility of their
lands has been altered to barrenness .Also, their homes and houses perished, plethora of people are missing, and many killed.
Besides being detterd from education, their basic human rights are put under a shoe. In addition to this, the brutal and unruly
india has also transgressed the UN the passed resolutions and revoked the articles regarding the independent status of this
opressed and paradise like kashmir. The world, seeing india as a trade marketing place, has constantly been ignoring this issue
since its inception. Though the United Nations has passed many resolutions over these issues yet none of them is brought into
practice or has it asked the occupying india to act upon it. To compound the puzzle, India, now, even tries to turn its majority into
minority by allowing Indian denizens to purchase properties there. This act is fully in contradiction with the resolutions passed by
the UN.
To conclude with, this opressed, depressed and beaten for nothing community still strives to gain freedom from the brutal
India. They, despite being under a sever curfew, come out, protest against the brutality of the Nazi inspired india. In this rightful
protest, they have lost many of their youth’s lives;some martyred, thousands of protesters got missing and other got either
blind or purblind.also,on daily basis, they are arrested and put behind the bars without any judicial trail. This all is done with them
not because they are involved in any terrorist activities or doing an act that is against human dignity or prescribed law.The thing
that they are made prisoners for or in other words, their guilt is that they want to live their lives in accordance with their own
wishes.they want themselves and their progeny to be free from any other force (india),they being freedom lovers neither did not
will kneel before any cruelty to what extent, why not that opression be sever and violent. They were born, though for the passage
of time be in chains, are destined to be free.Satan in paradise lost(an epic by Milton) says, “better to reign in hell than to serve
in heaven―keeping this quote in view, how will these brave and deginfied kashmiris (the dwellers of paradise on Earth) like to
be illegally governed by an unwanted force. Again,it can be stated that the only reason they are suffering for,is they want
emancipation from unruly violence and cruelty. But one day, sooner or latter, these dwellers of natural beauty are destined to be
