Lesson plan
Grade:10th class
Subject: Physics
Topics of discussion: Amplitude, Wavelength, frequency,
periodic time.
General aims:
 To develop power of thinking and reasoning.
 To boost up scientific attitude and interest of students.
 To develop scientific creativity in students.
Teaching aids: white board, marker, duster.
Instructional aid: multimedia to show different videos
related to particular topic, activities, analyzing daily life
situations.
Instructional setting: Whole class participation.
Learning outcomes:
1) Why we need to study frequency, wavelength,
amplitude and time period.
2) What is meant by frequency?
3) Uses and formula of frequency theoretically and
practically.
4) Relation b/w frequency, time period…
5) Frequency of a wave, light, sound wave etc…
6) What is meant by wavelength?
7) Its difference from length and waves.
8) What is meant by amplitude?
9) High and low amplitude.
10) From Amplitude if a wave and sound….
11) Formula and unit for amplitude.
12) What is meant by time period?
13) Time period of a pendulum.
14) How can we co-relate these all.
15) Units, symbols and graphical representation of all.
Understanding the lesson:
 Frequency is the number of occurrences of a repeating
event per unit of time.
 Amplitude, in physics, the maximum displacement or
distance moved by a point on a vibrating body or wave
measured from its equilibrium position.
 Wavelength is the distance between identical points in
the adjacent cycles of a waveform signal propagated in
space or along a wire.
 A time period (denoted by 'T' ) is the time taken for one
complete cycle of vibration to pass a given point.
 Frequency is inversely proportional
to wavelength. Amplitude is independent of both.
The amplitude (height) of the wave can't exceed a
certain amount.
 And the rest of related questions.
Instructional strategy:
 Lecture method
 Demonstration method
Evaluation:
 Quizzes
 Oral discussion
 Assignments.
