PS900

Design
The basic frame of the PS900 is a strong but light-
weight steel construction with overall dimensions
according to the ETS 2200 mm height standard.
The system is particularly suitable for deployment in
confined spaces, e.g. in containers, for powering digi-
tal exchange equipment, mobile radio and similar

The cabinets are of modular and service-friendly de-

sign. One cabinet accommodates up to 10 rectifiers
GR90 100 A as 19" plug-in modules terminating at the
back of the cabinet via hot-plug connectors.
The cabinets are closed at the rear so that they can be
freely positioned in the room.
At the front the cabinets have no visible cabling, and
provide covers for batteries and loads so there is no
need for a door.
If required, they can be furnished with a lockable
door.

Mounted readily accessible at eye level is the central

controller SPSC2000.
The top section of the cabinet provides the space for
up to 10 load feeders type NH00.

Latest Technology
Combining switch-mode technology with the latest
components enables the rectifiers to achieve a
high power density. As a result the rectifier is com-
pact and light while meeting the most exacting
demands as to efficiency and electromagnetic
compatibility (EMC).
Provision is made to ensure a sinusoidal AC input
current is drawn.
The DC output of the rectifiers is short-circuit-
proof. With high switching frequencies and opti-
mized control loops the modules can respond fast
to dynamic load changes while maintaining high-
est output voltage stability.
Active Power Factor Correction (PFC) eliminates
reaction on the AC source almost completely.
The reliable electrical isolation between the AC at
the input and the DC at the output enables the
rectifier module to be used for powering TNV cir-
cuits (telecommunication network voltage).

Supply reliability has been further enhanced by
configuring the rectifier from three identical, inde-
pendently operating power modules.

Hot-Plug-in Design =
Easy Handling and Maintenance
The hot-plug-in connectivity makes the rectifier
modules very easy to install / replace, allowing
service-friendly handling without disrupting opera-
tion.
Once the module has been plugged and latched
into the position provided, it is automatically ter-
minated and immediately ready for operation.
Each power module has its own built-in fan. The
fan speed adapts automatically to the temperature
and power. The fans are very easy to maintain as
they are accessible from the front – all that is re-
quired is to remove the rectifier cover.
Universally Deployable
The rectifier can operate from a wide range of AC
voltages and is thus suitable for AC networks
worldwide.

The controller saves system
status information. The stored
data provide the basis for specific
statistics to enable retrospective
analysis, but more importantly to
facilitate forward planning and
early detection of possible risks.
Alarms and other status informa-
tion can be sent via different
paths operating at different
speeds to their destination –
whether it be a locally connected
PC or a remote control centre –
to suit the specific requirement.
The "Power Inspector" software
enables personnel at a distant
control centre to form a picture
of the PS system's present status
and to initiate any action that
may be necessary.
These facilities turn the system
into an active communications
partner particularly for the ser-
vice staff, enabling them to re-
spond rapidly and efficiently to
operational requirements.
