GENERAL NOTES
The approaching manoeuvers for the pin−connection must be carried out at slow speed in order to
avoid load swinging.
Observe exactly the order of the operations given in this chapter.

i The slings and the shackles are supplied by the customer.

The erection operations of the towerhead must be carried out with the safety
harness.

PREPARING
Fitting the towerhead gussets

For fitting the towerhead gussets, observe the direction of the fishplate bolt nut.

Bolt the left towerhead gusset (1) firstly by means of the fishplate bolts (2) and the washers (3), and
secondly using the screws (4), washers (5) and nuts (6).

Observe the position of the fishplate bolts (grey tint).

Repeat the operation for the right gusset (7).

Fitting the accesses

Fit the grab rails (1), (2) and (3) onto the platform (4) and fix them by means of safety pins (5).

Fix the platform (1) onto the slewing towerhead by means of the pins (2) and split pins (3).
Fix the grab rail (4) by means of the safety pins (5).

Fit the trap door (1) onto the towerhead (2) and fix it by means of the screws (3), washers (4), nuts
(5) and clips (6).

Fix the footboard (1) onto the ladder (2) using the threaded rod (3) and the safety nuts (4).

Fit the ladder (1) at the towerhead feet level (2) and then lock it by means of the pins (3) and safety
pins (4).

During erection and transport of the towerhead assembly the ladder must compulsorily be
positioned at the towerhead feet level.

Fitting the collector (option)

Dismantle the trap door giving access to the towerhead (1) by removing the screws (2), washers (3),
nuts (4) and the clips (5).

Insert the ladder support (1) on the ladder (2).

Fit the ladder support (3) on the ladder (2), then fix it using the assembling rod (4) and safety nuts (5).

Position the ladder and its support in the middle of the mast panel.
Fix the ladder support (1) onto the mast platform (2) by means of the screws (3), washers (4) and nuts
(5).
Fix the ladder support (6) on the upper mast angle iron by means of the fixing flanges (7), washers
(8) and nuts (9).

Fit the ladder support (1) into the ladder (2).

Fit the ladder support (3) on the ladder (2), then fix it by means of the assembling rod (4) and safety
nuts (5).

Position the ladder and its support at 45 degrees in the corner opposite the first ladder.
Fix the ladder support (1) on the mast platform (2) by means of the screws (3), washers (4) and nuts
(5).
Fix the ladder support (6) on the upper mast angle irons using the fixing flanges (7), washers (8) and
nuts (9).

Assemble the collector:

Fix the lower part of the collector by means of the flanges (1), screws (2), washers (3) and nuts (4)
by observing the 10 º angle and the 150 mm dimension with respect to the towerhead center.
Fix the upper part of the collector by means of the plates (5), screws (2), washers (3) and nuts (4).

FITTING
When the crane must be telescoped, fit the accessories onto the fixed towerhead.

TELESCOPING / Fitting the accessories

i Fitting the towerhead equipped with a collector is identical to the fitting of a towerhead with ladder
platform.

Sling the towerhead at the slinging points (3) using slings (1) and shackles (2).
Remove the protecting shoes (4) and clean the bearing surfaces of the towerhead feet as well as the
fish joint holes which must be free of grease and burrs.

Raise the assembly and position it onto the crane
tower.
Adjust the monorails (1) in the direction opposite
the telescoping lugs (2).
