PSV & PSHL SETTINGS AND TOLERANCES GUIDE

>>>>>>>>>> PSV TEST TOLERANCE <<<<<<<<<<

PSV Tolerance = + or -2 PSI (Equal to or Less Than) < 70 psi
PSV Tolerance = + or -3% (Greater Than) > 70 psi

>>>>>>>>>> PSHL SETTINGS FOR VESSELS <<<<<<<<<<

Step 1) PSH Setting is = + 15 % or 5 psi Whichever is greater Above the HOP
Step 2) OR = minus - 5 % OR 5 psi Whichever is greater BELOW THE PSV SETTING
Step 3) Pick the Lower number Between the PSH +15% Setting or - 5% below the PSV SETTING
PSL Setting = - 15 % or 5 psi Whichever is greater Below the LOP
PSHL SETTINGS For FLOWLINES (Math is the same as PSHL Setting)
PSH Setting = + 15 % or 5 psi Whichever is greater Above the HOP
OR = 5 % OR 5 psi Whichever is greater BELOW THE SITP OR GAS LIFT SUPPLY PRESS
PSL Setting = - 15 % or 5 psi Whichever is greater Below the LOP
PSHL SETTINGS FOR PIPELINES (Math is the same as PSHL Setting)
PSH Setting = + 15 % or 5 psi Whichever is greater Above the HOP
OR = 5 % OR 5 psi Whichever is greater MUST NEVER BE ABOVE MAOP
PSL Setting = - 15 % or 5 psi Whichever is greater Below the LOP

>>>>>>>>>> PSHL TOLERANCE SETTINGS <<<<<<<<<<

PSHL Tolerances = + or - 5 % or 5 psi Whichever is greater/above and below Set Pressures
MAWP = Maxium Allowable Working Pressure MAOP = Maxium Allowable Operating Pressure
HOP = Highest Operating Pressure LOP = Lowest Operating Pressure
Note: Remember when performing calculations High Side Round Down & Low Side Round Up
>>>>>> Rounding Examples: High Just Drop Decimal > 1090.7 = 1090 <<<<<<<
Low Side Drop Decimal And Just Add One Whole Number > 768.2 = 769 High
When Calculating the -5% PSV setting for the PSH, ALWAYS Use the LOWER Number
Example: HOP @ 1060 +15% = 1219 psi, PSV Set @ 1250 -5% = 1187 psi, PSH Setting = 1187
PSH HOP Settings = Step 1 Calculate HOP + 15% Then Step 2 PSV Setting - 5% = ?
Step 3 Pick the Lower number from Step 1 PSH +15% and or Step 2 PSV Setting - 5% For HOP PSH
Using Multiplication Factors for PSHL Settings
(+15% = 1.15) (-15% = .85) (+5% = 1.05) (-5% = .95) (+3% = 1.03) (-3% = .97)
