Course Description This course is designed to assist students in developing technological proficiencies in accounting-related software such as Express Accounting,
Quickbooks, and Xero. Simulations and projects promoting teamwork, leadership, and workplace skills offer further opportunities for application of
knowledge and skills. It also helps students develop leadership abilities, expand workplace-readiness skills, and broaden opportunities for personal
and professional growth.
Course Intended After completing this course, STUDENTS MUST HAVE DEMONSTRATED:
Learning Outcomes 1. Familiarity with the application of information technology in the accountancy profession
(CILO) 2. Familiarity with different types of accounting software.
3. Competence in the preparation of different accounting documents and reports.
4. Competence in the performance of different accounting functions using spreadsheet software.
5. Competence in the use of different modern accounting software systems.
Program Outcomes A graduate of BS in Accountancy should be able to:
(PO) 1. Resolve business issues and problems, with a global and strategic perspective using knowledge and technical proficiency in the areas of
financial accounting and reporting, cost accounting and management, accounting and control, taxation, and accounting information systems;
2. Conduct accountancy research through independent studies of relevant literature and appropriate use of accounting theory and methodoligies;
3. Employ technology as a business tool in capturing financial and non-financial information, generating reports and making decisions;
4. Apply knowledge and skills to successfully respond to various types of assessments (including professional licensure and certifications); and\
5. Confidently maintain a commitment to good corporate citizenship, social responsibility and ethical practice in performing functions as an
accountant.
