Topic: God Provides for Our Needs Enough for Each Day
Text: 1 Kings 17:7-16

Objectives: That the learners will be able to:


1. Express amazement at how God kept Elijah and the widow’s family fed during the
famine.
2. Record the big and small blessings they receive from God each day.
3. Pray for their daily needs with thanksgiving.

In advance:
1. Pray for yourself and the learners.
2. Prepare the needed materials and videos needed.
3. Master the lesson.

Entrance:
 Opening Prayer
 Opening Song: God Will Take Care of You
 Ask: How did God provide for you and your family in the past week? Have you thanked
God for helping you during those times?

Transition sentence: Our story today will tell us about a widow and her son who shared their
last meal with a complete stranger, but got something even more surprising in return.

Substance:
 Story: Elijah and the Widow’s Flour and Oil (1 Kings 17:7-16)
 Discussion questions:
1. What was the widow doing when Elijah found her?
Answer: She was gathering sticks to build a fire for her and her son’s last meal.
2. What did Elijah requests from the widow?
Answer: To give him water to drink and bread to eat.
3. What did the widow do?
Answer: Even though she only had enough flour and oil for her and her son, she still
prepared bread for Elijah.
4. What happened when the widow did as Elijah requested her?
Answer: God did not let her run out of flour and oil.

Significance:
 Say: Just like how God provided for Elijah and the widow and her son, God blesses us on
a daily basis.
 Ask them to share about the small and big blessings they receive every day.
 Encourage them to take note of the daily blessings they receive a little notebook so they
would remember to thank God for them.

General Truth: God is always on time for His provision.

Performance:
 Craft: Bread and Basket

 Say: It would be a good practice for us to acknowledge His blessings and thank Him.
When we pray to God, we should pray with thanksgiving.
