1.Introduction

The novel''KAMPA''is written by Sharada Sharma.It is a fictious novel

which goes through different stages after death is presented in it.The
novel holds an event which was occurred by earthquake.The novelist
had used that event and it is mixed up with Garud Puran.

The research proposal intends to analyze about the characters of novel

Kampa.It deals with charateriztion of the novel under the title
''Character and characterization''.She portrays various types of
characters in this novel.They perform different roles according to their
situations.The novelist creates the magical play and select the
characters which seems to be related to that world.The characters are
affected and motivated by social changes of the society.The novelist has
used different types of characters.She had used round character who
suffered from many problems.The novel has been analyzed by applying
the perspective of character and characterization.This reserarch is about
the study of the novel by applying it.Thus,this research will be relevant
for the present context.

I became interested about this topic,when I started to think about soul

when they are departed from body.Where do they vanish and what
about heaven and hell,whose soul goes where,that made me curious
about it and I got this novel and I found all my questions
here.Whenever,anyone will listen such religious text they will be
interested about such stages and what types of a deeds should be done
by us.Our deeds decides where our soul will go in heaven or hell.

2.Statement of the problem

In the novel kampa by sharda sharma ,the novelist has portrayed

various types of characters. Through these characters the novelist has
depicted about the both world.These characters are implemented by
novelist by creating such situation where they can fit.They have the
traits of both,real people and the people living beyond from the real
world.This research finds the reflection of the issue of character and
charaterization prominent.This text has not been studied from this
perspective.In order to fill such gaps,the research work will dealthe
following research questions:

1.How a character can be presenting by matching sequence of novel?

2.what makes a character to change themselves ?

3.What types of a combination is made within character in each part?

4.What types of character are used in this novel to show its affection to
the readers?

This study will be confinenet to the analysis of the character and

charaterization in novel.This study will be constrained into the literature
to expalin about character and characterization with the idea of E.M
Foster.This novel can be analyzed by watching different characters.The
novelist had used very tactfully these characters.Some of them are
major characters and some are minor characters.The role of minor
character are used to make situation easy for proagonist to perform the
role.The novelist had used
protagonist,antagonist,dynamic,static,round ,stock and foil characters
to complete it by attracting readers to go thorough it.This research
mostly focus in how the characters can make sequence and intersting to
it.The characterization and applying of it in different stages by creating
curiousity to the readers is very tactfull and needed to show the face of
beyond of life.

3.Significance of study:

This study will help you to understand the behavior,activities,and living

conditions of the people from our own society analytically.It will also be
instrumental in understsnding how their relations ,profession influence
their psychological way to life and how these factors mould the
characteristics of the society.In the same way,this study be also useful
to enhancing critical analaysis of other texts from using the technique
.In fact ,this study help to make wide and deepens study of our own role
,positionin the family as well as in the society.So, this study will be
found a significant one.

This study will help readers to know about use of characters.It will show
how the use of quality is done to link and present their expression as
we call characterization.The quality and responding of every action
performed by character makes more intersting and creates curiousity to
the readers.The impact of such roles makes readers to think about their
deeds and makes conscious about what happens after death.

4.Hypothesis

This study assumes the various types of character such as

protagonist,antagonist,dynamic,static,round,foil and stock are found in
this novel.It portray the themo f the novel as these characters advocate
for the females rights and the character who acts agsinst the equality
has been presented negatively.

There are several characters but only some of

the characters are very much important,which deals with subject
matter and present the condition which we face after death.There are
many rituals which should be performecd after death nor then the soul
can't complete it needs and remains empty.

5.Review of Literature

6.Methodology:

This research is based on qualitative research method.I had

collected data by reading novel,books,fiction,research paper
and edition.I will present my data,which is collected from
primary and secondary sources:
1.Primary source:
The primary source of this research is this novel itself and
religious prabachan which helped me to know more about it. I
went to meet priest to know more about it.
B.Secondary sources:
While collecting data I went through many sites,books,news
paper,texts,Graud Puran,library and pedagological text and other
relevant text and ideas.

7.Delimitation

The research is based on qualatitive research.The research goes through

th difference case studies from which it was easy to draw a
conclusion.The results are limits by the case study.

The research have following objectives:

A.It dentifies about the presentation and types of character.

B.It presence physical and supernatural powers which can be
created by imagination.
C.It shows how a character is linked with characterization.

The thesis will be completed within 60 days.Its tentative
