been replaced - your unit operates smoothly:

materials, and the inspected with the same
measurement systems as our volume produc-
tion parts. And they are submit to the same

Servicing and ZF Swing Units

Specific economic criteria will determine whether you

want your transmission to be serviced or whether you opt
in favor of a swing unit. First-time quality is warranted – in
both cases.

ZF swing units are made available swiftly, if your vehicle

must be “fit” again in short time. Downtimes are restricted
to removal and installation times only; and your top perfor-
mer is already back in business.

As reconditioned genuine parts, ZF swing units must pass

highly complex production and inspection procedures:
Each defective part is completely dismantled, inspected,
and, if needed, repaired with new parts; thus, it is adapted
to the latest technological developments. As a result, we
can stand by our promise: Identical quality as volume pro-
duction parts and complete warranty coverage.

Moreover, ZF swing units help to preserve resources; thus,

they are not only economical but also the optimum ecologi-
cal solution if it is about short downtimes!

Transmission Fluids
Maximum productive efficiency and shift
comfort can only be generated by a fluid that
has been optimally adapted to the transmission.
Therefore, we make in-house developed ZF
lubricants available for your unit.
Thanks to their excellent product characteris-
tics, synthetic Ecofluid transmission oils do not
only prevent wear but also increase the ser-
vice lifetime of your transmission. They make
shifting easier and reduce service costs thanks
to extended oil change intervals; this feature
is not only environmentally-friendly but also
corresponds to reduced downtimes and a plus
in economic efficiency.

adapted to its specific application require-

Retrofits and PTOs
New application conditions alter the require-
ments established for your fleet. New pro-
ducts promise enhanced safety, comfort, and
efficiency. In both cases, a retrofit may be a
worthwhile investment: Subsequently instal-
led ZF units such as Intarders, shift systems,
manual or automatic transmissions help your
vehicle manage its speeds in a better and more
cost-effective way.
If, moreover, you want your top performer to
power pumps, winches, and other auxiliary
applications, then we will provide you with
the fitting PTOs, either as a clutch-, engine-
dependent, or vehicle driven version.

Service Concepts
and Services
In order to safeguard the effectiveness of your
vehicle, we have developed flexible service con-
cepts for you which have been tailored exactly
to fit your individual needs. These comprise
maintenance and repair contracts at fixed price
or preventive overhaul.
We maintain the systems we have sold to our
customers during their entire service lifetime
and train driver and maintenance teams for
military vehicles either on site or in Fried-
richshafen. The teams are familiarized with
the technology as such; then, we train them
with product handling and management on the
basis of transmission removal and installation
examples.

Diagnosis
With the ZF-Testman pro, we can equip you
with an efficient and reliable tool for the
diagnosis of all electronically controlled ZF
products. Problems can be identified at an
early point in time, errors can be avoided, and
downtimes can be reduced. Moreover, the
system enables you to discover optimization
potential. The ZF-Testman pro records data
about route profiles and driving styles, thus, it
reveals how manufacturers, fleet owners, and
drivers reach their destinations in an even
more economically viable manner.

Test Rigs
We provide our customers with comprehensive
test rig programs, ranging from the functional
single test bench up to the standard variant
with vibration-damped belt drive and electri-
cal swivel-type clamping bell, if it is about the
inspection and release of all ZF commercial
vehicle transmissions as well as other ZF appli-
cations – be it in Customer Service or Quality
Assurance.
Logistics

Swift and reliable service is the very prerequi-

site for high-performance logistics. In Fried-
richshafen, at our central spare parts ware-
house, 30 000 active items are made ready
for shipment. The service level is consistently
above 94%. These are optimum conditions to
get your vehicle quickly back onto the road
whenever needed.
