1. My role during the Intramurals is to be cheerer and I also played Basketball in which we
were announced the champion and the same go with the cheering competition. Being a
cheerer was a bit hard because it is really a team effort for us to be heard clearly and
our actions needs to be synchronized. Being a Basketball player is also a bit hard
because it is also a team game and it requires team effort, good IQ, great body
conditioning, quick reactions, hustle, and overall hard work. But I don’t really feel bad
doing it because I love doing it and I always have fun with it. Plus, we could get along
with our peers and we can better our health when playing Basketball.

2. The way that the Mathematics was used when we played Basketball and every time a
Basketball game is played are when a team is down in points, they need to calculate
how much points they need to gain in order to win the game. They need to calculate
how much time there is left to make a difference in the game. The players need to
calculate how much fouls they already have so that they won’t foul out of the game.
Some players also calculate how much elbow angle they need in order to shoot the
Basketball properly. The players also need to calculate the time limit for everything in
the game like the 24 seconds violation, 3 seconds violation, 8 seconds violation, 5
seconds violation and many more. Most of the official Basketball games tally the
statistics of every team and player in order to identify the team who won and the player
who won the MVP, Most Defensive Player, and many more. That’s how we and every
people who plays Basketball use Mathematics in playing Basketball. The way that we
used Mathematics during the cheering competition was when we calculate the timing of
every action of every cheer the tempo in seconds of every cheer, etc.
