This is a written question.
• Two pieces from Section 2 (One piece from Plane Geometry and One piece from Solid

NOTE: The requirements for the completion of the Project from Section 3 remains as is
(NO CHANGE)

2. CSEC® Visual Arts

School-Based Assessment - Portfolio

(i) Reduce assessment to TWO pieces of work per expressive form instead of THREE.
Candidates will be required to complete Art Pieces 2 and 3 ONLY. Each piece MUST be

(ii) Teachers may create illustration videos for all expressive forms to guide students and
have students record the processes involved in making artefacts.

Adjusted Criteria and Mark Scheme for SBA 2021

SCHOOL-BASED ASSESSMENT (30 per cent of Total Assessment)

Due to the present circumstance with the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic that is affecting
not just the Caribbean but the world, the Caribbean Examination Council has sought to make
a change to the structure and amount of School Based Assessments for Unit 1 ONLY, while
Unit 2 composition, mark allocation and assignment remains the same.

Note, this change is an amendment for June/July 2021 examinations only.

The School-Based Assessment will consist of a Portfolio for each Unit consisting of
assignments taken from the Module(s) outlined in the syllabus.

UNIT 1
Paper 03 - Drawing Portfolio (30 per cent of the Total Assessment)

Composition

The Drawing Portfolio must consist of Four (4) assignments. Two assignments from Module

The assignments in each Portfolio will be assessed by the teacher and reassessed by a
moderator appointed by CXC®.

Mark Allocation

The marks recorded for each Module carries a maximum of 40 marks. Note, Module 1 will be
the average of TWO Module assignments. Modules 2 and 3 is one assignment each but will
be the average of TWO Module assignments. The Internal Assessment for each Module is
