Task 1. Design an original assessment activity that may be utilized in teaching prose.
Explain and describe how it will be conducted in the classroom.

Introduction

Teaching prose is something different from other subjects since development of


language learning is focused here. So, a teacher should emphasis in enriching
vocabulary of the class. Designing an original assessment activity in teaching poetry is
another challenging yet fun work. The aim of teaching prose is for language
development and develop the basic skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing). In
learning prose is to develop critical thinking.

Pre-assessment

To begin a new lesson, I will leave the hints to my students on what it is about
for them to catch their attention. I’ll be showing them pictures of the famous poets and
let them guess what our lesson is about.

Assessment activity

The teacher will provide the facts and let students organize and make an
essay
Students will be group into three and be given a time to think and write.
After that, they will present in front of class and graded by teacher
according to the given rubric.
Post- assessment

To wrap up the lesson, the students must understand the specific aims of each
subject matter and to be able to create an outstanding work that includes the use of
vocabulary and the sentence structure. After reading an essay, the students must
identify the central idea and write their own insights.

Final Assessment

The teacher will give students a topic to choose.

 Content – 50%
 Organization- 30%
 Mechanics- 20%
