What is the book about?

The basic idea of this book is that in the past, the political, economic, military, and social
development of the world took place during a relatively stable sea level. However, that era has now
passed. The world must begin to cope with sea level rise. This book is a broad introductory survey.
It involves global warming, hydrological cycles, why we should care about the rise of the oceans,
storm surges and other extreme events, changes in oceans and coastlines, cities and countries in the
Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Ocean basins, the South West Antarctic ice sheet and the Greenland ice
sheet, A case study of how the Netherlands and the United States plan to cope with sea level rise, the
possible impact of this rise, an understanding of sea level rise experts, and the long-term prospects
of the world's coastline.
What have you learnt from the book? / How is the story related to your own experience?

I learnt that the two major causes of global sea level rise are thermal expansion caused by warming
of the ocean and increased melting of land-based ice, such as glaciers and ice sheets. .We wanted to
solve the problem of sea level rising first we need to keep the ice Arctic and Antarctic stop melting,
if the ice in Arctic and Antarctic non-stop melting of ice it will cause a large amount of water
suddenly added and make the sea rising. Second if we want to stop the main problem global
warming the thins that we can do in our daily life are like power your home with renewable energy
choose a utility company that generates at least half its power from wind or solar and has been
certified by Green-e Energy, Reduce water waste Saving water reduces carbon pollution, too. That's
because it takes a lot of energy to pump, heat, and treat your water, buy better bulbs and drive a fuel-
efficient vehicle Gas-smart car, such as hybrids and fully electric vehicles, save fuel and money. In
my opinion, we have a responsibility to keep the sea level stop rising it cause this result because of
human activities so I think we need to solve it quickly.
Would you recommend this book to your friends / relatives? Why or why not?

Yes, I will recommend this book to your friends or relatives because I want more people to know
about the problems of our planet Earth the rising of sea level is the one of the problems there have
more that we need to notice and solve it immediately if not the problem will still be continue and
also will some big accidents in the future.
