SUBJECT: 2-Cup Fuel Nozzle Improvement (LM2500+ DLE Models)

I. PLANNING INFORMATION

A. Effectivity

LM2500+ gas generators, serial numbers 636-050, 636-051, and 636-101 through
636-106, are affected by this Service Bulletin.

LM2500+ gas turbines, serial numbers 559-101 through 559-110, 642-101 through
642-107, 642-109 through 642-135, and 642-137 through 642-144, are affected by
this Service Bulletin.

B. Reason

This Service Bulletin introduces an improved 2-cup fuel nozzle which has a modified
A-cup fuel circuit effective area requirements that reduce the ELBO flow from
14 percent to 9 percent of the overall A-ring fuel flow. The improved fuel nozzle
should reduce NOx emissions by 2-4 ppm at the uprated T48 limit of 1546° F
(841.1° C) at ambient temperatures of 10-120°F (-12.2 to 48.9°C).
