B. Reason

(1) Objective:

The purpose of this Service Bulletin is to introduce an Xtend™ hot section kit
to LM2500 Plus DLE engines.

(2) Condition/Events:

Standard hot section components are removed/repaired on an on-condition

basis, typically 25,000 hours when operating on natural gas fuel.
(3) Cause:

Customer request for HPT component life improvement.

(4) Improvement:

Improved materials and coatings from the LM2500+G4 hot section

components have been incorporated into the plus engine and are expected
to increase the component replacement intervals.

C. Description
This Service Bulletin provides instructions to install the Xtend™ kit.

D. Compliance

GE recommends this Service Bulletin be accomplished at the customer's discretion.

E. Manpower

Once the engine is removed from the enclosure, approximately 144 man-hours are
required to accomplish this Service Bulletin in the field as a rotable exchange.
