1. Configuration of SAN / SEN 40 movements using MOBA-NMS
Add devices to device view:

• Automatic search:
• Menu: „Edit  Auto Scan For Devices…“ or icon:
• Select scan mode: Multicast is recommended for movements

• Click on "application preferences" to select the correct LAN interface


(see view next page)

• Be sure, your Windows Firewall or you Virus scanner is not blocking the
Multicast Packets.
Otherwise you have to temporarely deactivate the Firewall or the Virus
scanner.

• Select the LAN interface which shall be used for the Mulricast search

• Select one or more device types

• Then the search list shows all found devices. All or individual devices can be
selected. (Only selected entries will be included in the device view.)

• Configuration can be accessed in five different ways:
• Menu: „Edit  Open Device Configuration“
• Click icon:
• Double click on device in the device view
• Right click on device in the device view
 Open device configuration
• Click button „Open Configuration“ below the general information

• Click on "General Settings" register card
• If manual IP settings should be done, remove tick behind "Use DHCP".
• Enter IP address, network mask and gateway according to the IT requirements.
• Enter at least one IP address of a NTP server.

Do the settings according to the example mask below:

• Click on "Time Zone Settings" register card
• SAN/SEN 40 movements are equipped with 3 DIP switches to select the local time
zone. In case your local time is not within the first 7 entries of our time zone table,
you have to redefine an entry of the movement local table, using MOBA-NMS.
• See example mask below.
Select e.g. entry 0 (advantage, no DIP switch must be on) and overwrite it with your
local timezone from the whole table, e.g. 18 [+8] Singapore.

Variant 1: Local time selection by DIP switches only:


• Use the DIP switches 2.1 to 2.6 to select the timezone from the movement internal
timezone table (see manual). DIP switch 1.4 must be in off position !
• You can check the DIP switch settings in MOBA-NMS "Overview" register card, by
holding the mouse pointer of your computer to the bits behind "Switches"

Variant 2: Local time selection by MOBA-NMS (DIP switches on fix position):
• Click on "Overview" register card
• Activate behind e.g. entry number 0 the check box "Overwrite with" and select
behind from the drop down box the corresponding entry for the local time you need.
• Save this configuration
• Be sure, that DIP switcher 2.1 to 2.6 correspond to the selected entry (all off  0,
DIP switch 2.1 = on  1, … DIP switch 2.2 and 2.3 = on  6)

Variant 3: Local time sent from a time zone server:
• Use the DIP switch 1.4 = on, to select the timezone from time zone server (see
manual page 8)
• Use the DIP switches 2.1 to 2.4 to select the timezone entry out of the table sent
from the timeserver (MOBATIME DTS or NTS).
DIP switch 2.1 = on corresponds to the first entry of the table !
• Configuration of the time zone server, see example view below for DTS 480x.
• Time zone server configuration:
- Select Outputs register card
- In frame "NTP slave clocks / time zone server", select Mode "Time zone server on
req." for Unicast communication
- Click on "Time zones" behind
- Define e.g. Entry 1 with your local time zone you need for the clocks

• Click on "Overview" register card to


check the settings

3. Configuration of TREND clocks using MOBA-NMS

Add devices to device view:

• Automatic search:
• Menu: „Edit  Auto Scan For Devices…“ or icon:
• Select scan mode: Multicast is recommended for movements

TREND commissioning: configuration view – General Settings
• The clock does not have any DIP swiches! MOBA-NMS or MOBA-SCC is required
• Start MOBA-NMS (SCC), search for TREND clocks via Multicast and include them
in the device list
• Open «General settings»
• Select «Communication / synchronization Mode»: Unicast or Multicast
• Set Network parameter and NTP server manually or use DHCP (default setting)
• In the field «Location/Desc.» you can assign an individual «name» to each clock

Configuration view for TREND clocks: Time zone settings
• Click on "Time Zone Settings" register card
• Select either a time zone from internal time zone table (see example mask below).
• Select "Time zone server":
Select e.g. Server entry 1, to select first entry from the time zone list, sent from
Time zone server (see second mask below).
