About the WIAT-4
1 Brief Description
The Wechsler Individual Achievement Test ® (4th ed.; WIAT® -4) is an individually
administered clinical instrument designed to measure the academic achievement of
examinees ages 4 through 50, and students in prekindergarten (PK) through Grade 12.
The WIAT‑4, a revision of the Wechsler Individual Achievement Test (3rd ed.; WIAT–III;
Pearson, 2009), consists of 20 subtests used to evaluate listening, speaking, reading,
writing, and mathematics skills. Examiners can choose to administer a single subtest or
any combination of subtests to assess achievement in one or more domains.
Fall, winter, and spring grade-based standard scores; age-based standard scores;
percentile ranks; stanines; NCEs; age and grade equivalents; and growth scale values
are available.
Selection of WIAT-4 subtests is determined by the examinee’s grade level (with 12+
including examinees in Grade 12 as well as adults no longer in school). Not all subtests
are administered at every grade level. Administration time varies depending on the
grade level of the examinee and the number of subtests administered.
New to the WIAT-4, Q-global users have access to automated scoring of Essay
Composition as part of their assessment at no additional cost.

Q-global ® offers the Manual Entry (ME) administration option for the WIAT-4. The test is
administered using paper and pencil, and the subtest raw scores are manually entered
into the Q-global software.
Pricing Options
Pearson offers two pricing options for administration scoring and reporting on Q-global.
2. Scoring subscription (manual entry of raw scores): The scoring subscription allows
unlimited scoring use for the term of the subscription. Scoring subscriptions are
available by product and report type and are per user.
Important note:
The Q-global system is designed to search for a scoring subscription first. If a scoring
subscription is not assigned to the user generating the report, the digital inventory
of report usages is debited for the report generated from the manual entry of
item responses.

are configurable using report configuration settings.
The WIAT-4 Parent Report provides subtest descriptions of all administered subtests and
graphical profiles of scores.
The administration of this assessment cannot be scored if any of the following conditions
are true:
