GRAMMAR CORNER : There is – There are

There is y there are se utilizan para describir la cantidad de objetos que hay en un lugar.

There is: ​Se utiliza cuando nos referimos solo a un objeto

Example:

There is one guitar.

There are: ​Se utiliza cuando nos referimos a 2 o más objetos

Example:

There are​ two shoes.

PREPOSITIONS:​ are short words (on, in, to) that usually stand in front of nouns
(sometimes also in front of gerund verbs).
There are hardly any rules as to when to use which preposition. The only way to learn
prepositions is looking them up in a ​dictionary​, reading a lot in English (​literature​) and
learning useful phrases off by heart (​study tips​).
The following table contains rules for some of the most frequently used prepositions in
English:

GRAMMAR CORNER: TELLING THE TIME

Use ​o ‘clock​ to say the exact hour * It’s three ​o’clock​ 3:00
Use ​half past​ when the minute hand points to number 6 * It’s ​half past​ three 3:30
For the first half hour, say: minutes+past+hour * It’s ​twenty past three 3​:20
For the second half hour, say: minutes+to+next hour *It’s ​twenty to four​ 3:40
Use a ​quarter past​ or ​a quarter to​ in place of fifteen past or fifteen to *It’s ​a quarter

lugares donde viven o si desean hacer una maqueta (opcional) donde utilicen el there is
there are, preposiciones y el tiempo… por ejemplo: this is a Venezuelan town. There are
