1. In the Philippines, many countries like China and some
countries in Europe deliberately seek investment in our infrastructure thru Build, Build, Build Program. Should they be worried about their investment to us?
President Rodrigo Duterte administration’s infrastructure
plan or the “Build, Build, Build program” is for the Filipino people to improve their lives through creating jobs and give them huge opportunities in the country, minimize poverty as well as to develop industries that will capitulate growth. As what I’ve read from the articles that the administration’s are having an economic strategy that would generate the reliable and robust revenue flows that were needed for cash intensive. According to a page from the Department of Finance that Secretary Carlos Domiguez said “besides the tax reform program, the Philippines’ $170-billion infrastructure program will be financed through the following: 1) increased Official Development Assistance (ODA) flows from Japan and China, which have committed $9 billion each worth of investments and ODA, and Korea, which has pledged up to $1 billion; 2) investments from multilateral institutions such as the Asian Development Bank, World Bank and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, 3) floating bonds at investment-grade rates, and 4) hybrid Public-Private Partnerships in which the government undertakes the projects and completed ones are passed on to private partners for management or acquisition. ” It has combined loans and grants from these funding sources. He also said that “Duterte administration plans to increase infrastructure investments from 6.3 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP) in 2018 to 7.3 percent by 2022 through its 75 flagship projects so we are preparing to grow our economy at 7 percent this year. At that rate of expansion, and with strong investment inflows contributing to more inclusive growth, we hope to bring down the poverty rate to only 14 percent by 2022.” These are my claims to my answer which investors of the Build, Build, Build program should NOT be worried with their investments because the government are still doing their parts or job to fulfill their goals and continue the program despite of the numerous challenges that the world encountered. It does not mean that I’m with the government side but I noticed in news and from reading reliable and relevant articles that they had been working for our country
ABM, Ladao ABM, Ladao
to grow and develop, as well as to keep up and be one of the
developed countries in the world.
