Contrast Conjunctions
Contrast conjunction is a conjunction that connects ideas two simple sentences or two ideas in a paragraph as
shown in the following table.

John still wants to continue his study.


His parents couldn’t support him.

We combine the two sentences using the connector above

1. John still wants to continue his study although his parents couldn’t support.
2. John still wants to continue his study even though his parents couldn’t support.
3. Despite his parents’ support, John still wants to continue his study.
