Teacher Leadership Experiences and Future Goals

I will advocate for a more inclusive curriculum that respects all students (English Curriculum)
 Short term goal: Collaborate with colleagues to identify areas in the curriculum
that needs more inclusive material and address how we can solve them
 Long term goal: Utilize various resources from within and outside the school
community to acquire more inclusive texts
 Rationale: Aligns with the NCTE’s Position Statement on Indigenous Peoples and
People of Color (IPOC) in English and Language Arts Materials
 NBPTS: Proposition 2: Teachers know the subjects they teach and how to teach
those subjects to students.
 TLMD:  Domain 4: Facilitates Improvements in Instruction and Student Learning
 Teacher Inquiry: I will create a lesson plan that requires students to demonstrate
their learning by writing about their own cultural backgrounds.

I will seek to develop more professional development to support colleagues use of technology in
the classroom
 Short term goal: Collaborate with colleagues to identify areas of improvement for
the use of technology in the classroom
 Long term goal: Create a professional development training program for teachers
that need assistance with using technology in the classroom
 Rationale: My goal is aligned with the International Society for Technology in
Education (ISTE) standard 1 for educators
 NBPTS: Proposition 3: Teachers are responsible for managing and monitoring
student learning.
 TLMD: Domain 3: Promotes Professional Learning for Continuous Improvement

I will create a framework of ways to incorporate the community resources beyond the school
level to enrich the learning experience of my students

 Short term goal: I will identify ways to incorporate the community in my own
units/lesson plans and seek community partnerships to use in my classroom
 Long term goal: Create a framework for my colleagues to use community
resources in their own classroom.
 Rationale: Rationale: My goal is aligned with the International Society for
Technology in Education (ISTE) standard 3 for educators
 NBPTS: Proposition 5 Teachers are members of learning communities
 TLMD: Domain 6: Improves Outreach and Collaboration with Families and
Community
