Southeast Asia. So the government implemented the lockdown that

prevented any social gathering, the said lockdown also implemented

in Cebu City. Causes the major school to include (UC-METC) to

shutdown and this school will be focus on the study. Since the school

before has a lab courses among BSMT, and BSMARE and NAME.

BSMARE students is the decided respondents to know their

employment.

Through considerable analysis, the researcher found no studies

with employment status of BSMARE STUDENTS WITH

DEFERRED LAB COURSES. Thus, there is a gap of knowledge that

is needed to be filled in order to acknowledge the deferred lab course

that causes by the pandemic in respect to the BSMARE students.

This study aims the EMPLOYMENT STATUS OF BSMARE

STUDENTS WITH DEFERRED LAB COURSE. As basis of the

study this research is done through survey method.

Theoretical Background

This study is anchored based on ______ theory (year) by author

which states that….

According to ____ (year) (2nd paragraph to last supporting

theories and review of related literature and studies

This study is anchored on Commission on Higher Education

(CHED), adopted and modified to ensure its suitability in a maritime

setting. The proposed action plan aims to increase the employability of

BSMARE graduates by improving shipboard familiarization,

workshop skills training, and engine watchkeeping courses.

Furthermore, it strengthens maritime students' soft and life skill, which

are required in a stressful and prison-like environment such as a ship.

The BSMARE curriculum is being revisited, and the outcome-based

education model is being fully implemented in all professional courses

(Peter Ralph B. Galicia 2021).

According to Kabir (2014) enhance of seafarers' employability

through capacity building in a Maritime Education and Training

(MET) show that soft skills, quality graduates, qualified instructors

with adequate training facilities, and socio-economic and external

factors, all influenced the employability of maritime graduates.

Furthermore, human relations and communication skills, as part

of the basic safety curriculum in the maritime curriculum, as well as

acquired technical knowledge and professional course competencies,

are important factors in board ship (Orense & Laguador, 2013).

The Problem

Statement of the Problem

This study aims to determine the Employment Status with

deferred lab courses of University of Cebu Maritime Education and

Training Center BSMARE students.

This sought to answer the following:

1. What is the profile of the students in terms of:

1.1 Age;

1.2 Gender; and

1.3 Year level?

2. What are the effects of online learning in lab courses and skill

performance of BSMARE students?

3. What policy may be formulated to enable the BSMARE students to

experience lab course?

1. What is the profile of the respondents in terms of:

1.1 Age;

1.2 Gender; and

1.3 Year Level?

2. What is the employment status of the respondents with deferred

laboratory subjects?
3. Is there a significant relationship between the profile and the

employment status of the respondents with deferred laboratory

subjects?

4. Based on the findings, what sound recommendations can be

raised?

Statement of Hypothesis

Ho: There is no significant relationship between the profile and

the employment status of the respondents with deferred laboratory

subjects.

Statement of the Null Hypothesis

Ho: There is no significant relationship between employment status of

BSMARE students with deferred lab courses.

Significance of the Study

This study will benefit the following:

The results of this study may provide awareness to the

community of what is the Employment Status of BSMARE Students

with Deferred Lab Courses.

Specifically, it sought to benefit the following:

Students. This research study helps to assess the BSMARE

students' employment status. The results of this study helps to identify

if the BSMARE students’ with deferred lab courses have a difficult

time in finding a job.

Parents. The results of the study will serve as a reference for

them to better understand their children.

Teachers. The results of this study may serve as a reference for

them to know the views and opinions of the BSMARE students’ of

how having deferred lab courses impacted their employment status.

School Administrators.

Researchers.

Future Researchers.

Society. This study will be helpful to the society for it will bring

awareness on what are the thoughts of the students in this situation.

Future researchers. This research study may serve as a guide

in their future study. The results will be a possible literature for their

research study.

The researchers. The results of this study will help answer the

questions made by the researchers that would benefit for their new

acquired knowledge.
From the results, they will identify which part of their study they

could enhance in order to improve their research. The findings of this

study can also serve as a conceptual framework of another research.
