Week 1: Journal (Metal Health Preparation)

The Holidays ended. Today we start another Semester, the second semester of this academic
year AY 2020-2021. The transition to the New Normal is not that easy, though, we were able
to integrate to it all. Amidst the Pandemic. How was your holiday spent? What made it
different from what was usual? What made it more special? New learnings? What lies ahead?
Discuss briefly.

The Holiday is over and today we start another Semester, the second semester of this
academic year AY 2020-2021. Setting standards in the midst of a pandemic is hard. For those
students who felt unmotivated due to COVID-19, this scheme worked fairly well. However, as
this has become our new standard, just like anything else, getting back on track will take
some tinkering. There are so much to be thankful in the midst of this pandemic. We can still
be with our family virtually to celebrate this very special season. None of this is meant to
undermine the value of mental health and taking care of myself. This is not to condemn those
relaxing and enjoying themselves over the holidays. Now that we've had our time to settle in
and process the situation, it's time to learn to push ourselves in this "new normal"
environment. We need to take care of our health, now more than ever, but not at the cost of
all productivity and not at the cost of our goals and aspirations.

Week 2: Journal (Self Awareness)

How well do we know yourself. Your Strengths and Weaknesses.

I intentionally and unintentionally observe my moves, with a perspective that is different

than I adopt while I am performing those actions. This has been a great dilemma for me.
Sometimes I am quiet and tend to be reflective in the way they process information. At times
I am that "take charge" kind of person who needs to put information to immediate use and to
solve problems. Just as we have different preferences and ways of learning, we also change
and adjust our learning strategies based on our own development and on the different
learning situations in which we find ourselves. By understanding ourselves and becoming
more aware of these differences, we become more capable of adjusting to new situations
throughout our lifetime as learners.

I have hopes and fears when I entered in this life. Being a nursing student I am also concerned
about my future. I am always willing to experience and learn about new thing. My only
concern in nursing school is about my overall performance, whether I am doing good or not.
