Francisco "Bobby" Mañosa 

(12 February 1931 – 20 February 2019)

 a Filipino architect considered as one of the most influential Filipino architects of the 20th
century[1] for having pioneered the art of Philippine neo vernacular architecture.[2] 
 His contributions to the development of Philippine architecture led to his recognition as
a National Artist of the Philippines for Architecture in 2018
 He was popularly known as the architect of the Coconut Palace,[6] his other notable works
include the EDSA Shrine, the Davao Pearl Farm, and Amanpulo resorts
 Mañosa became known for combining traditional forms and indigenous materials with
modern building technology to create structures.

FAMOUS WORKS:

COCONUT PALACE OR TAHANANG PILIPINO (1978)

 Located in the Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex, in Pasay City.


 Official residence and the principal workplace of the Vice President of the Philippines during
the term of Jejomar Binay.

EDSA SHRINE (1989)

 The Shrine of Mary, Queen of Peace, Our Lady of EDSA, or more popularly,


the EDSA Shrine 
 Northern most tip of the Ortigas Center a financial and commercial district occupying
large tracts of land in Quezon City, Mandaluyong, and Pasig.
Federico Aguilar y Alcuaz (June 6, 1932- February 2, 2011)

 20th-Century Filipino painter known for his Cubist-inspired paintings.


 Alcauz’s work is characterized by its blurred edges coupled with bold lines and shapes.
 He is known mainly for his gestural paintings in acrylic and oil, as well as sketches in ink,
watercolor and pencil.
 belongs to the second generation of Filipino modernists
 Alcuaz was conferred the title of National Artist for Visual Arts, Painting, Sculpture and
Mixed Media in 2009.
