ACTIVITY 1 - WEEK 2

The style of dance I chose is the Cha-Cha-Cha

dance, it is a type of ballroom dance that is

rhythmic and molds together both the slow and very
energetic movements – created in Latin America.

Its choreographic form is sequential and patterned,

specifically AB Form – connected by a transition.
Moreover, it consists of three quick steps, which is
Choreographic Forms called the triple step or cha cha cha, and two
slower steps on the one beat and two beats, which
is known as the rock step. Also, it is danced at
about one hundred twenty beats per minute.

a. Sidestep to the left with my left foot

b. Step backward and left with my right foot

d. Sidestep to the right with my right foot

e. Move my left foot to my right foot.

The cha cha cha dance typically presents a lively,

fun, cheeky, and playful emotions as
corresponding to the dance itself. As I watched the
whole dance performance, I was brought by the
song and performance - full of energy and
excitement like I my heart is beating like the beat
of the dance. It was a fast dance that radiates a
lot of liveliness and playfulness that makes you

want to dance to the beat and be energized, in
general. Also, other people may feel erotic because
of the costumes of the dancers, the woman’s attire
shows a lot of skin and it has a lot of fringes that
cooperates when dancing. As for the man’s, it
doesn’t show much skin in order for the shine to
go to the girl, but it is tight on the top and loose
on the bottom pants – in order for it to flow with

the dance.
ACTIVITY 2
LEARNINGS AND 1. As I have observed while doing the dance, you
BENEFITS will feel free as you present yourself. This is
deemed true because dance is a form of art
that shows how beautiful the Cuban culture is
and the hard work of dancers. This is a part of
Cuban culture that must be treasured and be
practiced for a long time.
2. I knew that dancing cha cha cha is no joke, it
takes a lot of power, coordination, and you
need to be fast in order to follow this style of
dance. As a person that has two left legs, it is
quite difficult, but when you have the
perseverance and the will, you can be able to
perform it well.
3. As we all know, I am a couch potato. Dancing
this style can really be an exercise itself. All of
your body must move and sway when
performing it. If I have a partner, maybe in
three or later months, I will be much slim and
have toned legs, glutes, and a stronger core. It
makes one healthy and be stronger physically
and mentally, as it boosts one’s confidence and
self-esteem.
4. When you are a professional cha cha cha
dancer, you will meet a lot of people that are
the same hobby or career as you. With this,
you will get to know more people and as time
passes by, friendship can be made. Most of the
competitions happen by sets of couples from
different countries or places. You can also have
a lot of partners.
5. I have learned that in this dance, there is a
specific type of attire that you need to wear in
order for your talent to shine definitely. For
women, you must have a tight-fitting dress that
shows more skin in order to see their wonderful
movements. The addition of fringes and loose
fabric below makes the performance in a higher
level and it excites the audience more. As for
men, they typically wear black attires that
doesn’t show much skin. It is tight-fitting, but
at the bottom of the pants or the sleeves, it is

loose and looks wonderful when in motion.

Lastly, the touch of bling and diamonds makes
the dancers radiate while in the stage.
