Chipboard (1/16”) - Tiles & Wall Support

Tiles Bottom: 1 1/4” x 1 1/4”

Tile Top: 1 1/8” x 1 1/8”
Add features - round corners (haphazardly), cuts, chips - KEEP SMALL & less details = better

3/4” wide, 2 1/2” L long strips (run through hand and curve for curves)

Construction Paper (black, less than 1/16”) - Cladding

1/4” strips

Foamboard (dollar store, 3/16”) - Walls

1/2” strips (run through hand and curve for curves)
Put on a sturdy backing and elevate the depth of a tile - works as walls for both sides

Double Corrugated Cardboard - Support

Tile Size
● 1x1/5’x5’: 1 1/4” L x 1 1/4” L
● 1x2/5’x10’: 1 1/4” L x 2 1/2” L
● 1x4/5’x20’: 1 1/4” L x 5" L
● 1x8/5’x40’: 1 1/4” L x 10" L
● 2x2/10’x10’: 2 1/2” L x 2 1/2” L
● 4x4/20’x20’: 5” L x 5” L
● 8x8/40’x40’: 10” L x 10” L

L = light (-1/32”, between the two marks)

For Curves:
● 7” x 7”, make halfway cross
● Mark 2 7/16” in each direction on cross
● Draw circle w/ compass (will pass through each mark)
● Score on first pass, cut deeper on 2 & 3rs, going all the way through on the 4th pass
● Cut along cross to get 4 curves

For Slants
● cut a tile on the diagonal
● cut off 2 opposite squares on a slant
● cut off 1 square on a slant

Steps
1. Glue Tile Top onto Tile Bottom w/ hot glue - have features on different sides - called ‘Tiles’
2. Wall Support go on SHORTER side, attached to the side (not the top) with hot glue
3. Cut walls to 2 ½” L
a. peel off paper on one side
b. Score the middle and brick pattern with knife
c. Deepen with no-lead mechanical pencil
4. Put hot glue bead in corner (between Wall Support & Support) so it spreads out
5. Glue Cladding to exposed Support w/ hot glue - called ‘Base’
6. Paint Supports & Tiles
7. Attach Tiles to support w/ hot glue
a. Start with tiles that are not wall-adjacent
b. Cut 1/4" off wall adjacent and place cut side against wall
i. For curves
Cave (Changes)
1. Make only Field tile Base & freehand walls
a. Make sure they start & end in the corner
2. Use only Top Tiles
3. Lightly crinkle & uncrinkle foil
4. Cover Top Tile with foil and hot glue closed and place on tile
5. Cut 3/8" wide, at least 4” long, single corrugated cut AGAINST corrugation
6. Bend and shape - add hot glue to wall base and attach to Base
7. Add hot glue in lines up the wall (inside & out) and fill in gaps
8.
9. Paint

Tavern
1. Prepare one side of regular crafting stick and jumbo crafting stick (3/4" wide)
a. 4 regular per tile
b. 1 jumbo per 2 walls
2. Cobblestone walls - two wiggle lines down length, odd distance bricks, widen - DO NOT ATTACH YET
3. Glue on Cladding
4. Dark Brown (Burnt Umber) base the tile
5. Cut jumbo popsicle to length for walls
6. Glue to foundation with finish inside, press & hold 20 seconds
7. Cut crafting to 1 1/4" L, and hot glue to BOTTOM RIGHT so that the stick runs UP & DOWN (regardless of
orientation)
a. Glue the outside pieces first then center middle one
8. If next to a wall
a. Cut crafting to 1" L, rotate tile counter-clockwise and hot glue to BOTTOM RIGHT so that the stick runs
UP & DOWN (regardless of orientation)
9. Base neutral grey the foam board
10. Attach smaller of the two walls with hot glue
11. Attach longer side(s)
12. Light Grey 4-5 bricks per side (or other colors)

Water
1. Apply Cladding
2. Pre-draw hot glue lines for ripples
a. Make sure they do not touch the edge
b. Multiple directions
3. Apply hot glue - SLOW & STEADY
4. Paint with midnight blue base, blue harbor mid-coat (chase ripple lines) - do not let reach edge of tile; Light blue to
highlight ripples
a. Acid tiles would be green, red/orange/yellow for lava (add black-touched rocks for standing)
5. Apply thick coat of high gloss varnish when dry

Castle (Change)
1. Instead of using chipboard, use foam board for the spaces - measure and indent with knife & mechanical pencil
method
2. Hot glue to support & wall
Sewer (Change)

Painting
Dungeon
