I bow before the Almighty for giving me a rare opportunity to taste a drop from the ocean
of Jyotisha. I salute all Sages, Seers, Maharishis and brilliant scholars who enriched this
branch of Veda by their fathomless contributions. I am indebted to Shri G
Parameshwaran Namboothiri, of Mullappilly Illam, Velapaya, Trichur, Kerala, who
initiated me to Vedanga Jyotisha and imparted the primary lessons of this Shastra and
guided me to obtain Jyotisha Praveen certificate from Indian Council for Astrological
Sciences (ICAS), Chennai. I am indebted to Dr. A.P. Pillai, former Principal, Shantaram
Potduke College of Law, Chandrapur for the encouragement I received from him as he
always motivated me to take up research work in this branch.

I am obliged to Dr DK Kulkarni, Principal, Triskanda Vedanga Mahavidyalaya, Nagpur

for the guidance, co-operation and support I received to pursue and complete the research
work. He was very supportive for me to clear all of my queries & doubts, and was very
kind enough to guide me.

I am grateful to Dr. Mrs. Uma Vaidya, Vice Chancellor of Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit
University, Ramtek, Nagpur for the opening made to undertake research in this branch. I
am also thankful to Dr CG Vijayakumar, Director, Board of Planning & Development,
and Dean, Veda-Vidya & Grammar, KKSU for the continued encouragement received
from him for completing this research work. I am grateful to Dr Krishnakumar Pandey,
Dean, Ancient Indian Sciences and Humanities, and Head of Department, Vedanga
Jyotisha for his consistent support and guidance. I am thankful to Dr Dinkar Marathe and
Dr. Prasad Ghokhle, faculty members of Department of Vedanga Jyotisha, for their
assistance & support.
I am indebted to my Gurus in this Shastra Shri VV Divekar, Shri Dewavrut Buit and Shri
Prasanna Majumdhar of Triskand Jyotsih Mahavidyalaya, for their consistent guidance
and support which received from them.

I cannot possibly conclude this without expressing my deep gratitude for late Dr BV
Raman, Bangalore, Mr KN Rao, Dr PS Shastry and Pt Sanjay Rath whose books enriched
this branch of Shastra. These books helped me to amplify my grab on the subject and
have been a constant source of inspiration for me. I am eternally grateful to all of them.

I personally indebted to the encouragement and blessing which I received from Mrs
Gayatri Devi Vasudev, Editor, MODERN ASTROLOGY, Bangalore to complete my
mission in Vedanga Jyotisha. She has been always a source of motivation for me.

After losing my father at an early stage, my Mother has been a consistent source of
inspiration for me, who passed away in October 2015, without seeing me completing my
doctrinal studies. As I am devoted most of free time in the last few years to Astrology
reading, research and writing, my wife Sou. Bindu and my Sons Ashwin & Aditya made a
personal sacrifice and co-operated with my astrological research work. I am thankful to
them for their full co-operation. I am thankful to late Mr N.R. Butley, President,
Maharashtra Jyotish Parishad, Mumbai and Maharashtra Jyotish Abhyasak Mandal,
Nasik for the blessings received to complete my mission. I express my gratitude to all
the elders and friends in Vedanga Jyotisha, especially Mr Ramesh Potduke, Mr
Shreeniwas Rahalkar and all of my students of Vedanga Jyotisha and other well wishers
whose firm support and encouragement gave me the vigor and vision to complete this
work.
